This is a manual. It's the type of thing you keep handy because it exp[lains the basics.The text is clear and well written with helpful graphics and charts.IF you're looking for a book to perfect your lathe knowledge or techniques, this isn't it. If you want a quick reference, this is it.

I bought this book because I wanted one of my own so I did not have to keep borrowing, this book has excellent information for the beginner wood lathe person.
