Just air them out somewhere for a few days. The smell is noticeable, but doesn't bother me much. Just cut to size and microgreen roots are happy👍

Holds water very well & evenly. The roots took root well & the radish microgreens are standing tall. I'll be buying these for my microgreens from now on.

I don’t notice in the flavor of my micro greens but I have not grown them with anything else. They are easy to use and hold up, but I throw away after one batch because of leftover roots

If you are like we were, you were trying to save money for your micro greens system by buying these mats that would fit perfectly after being cut. The problem is, that the size listed will leave you with excess waste. Also, these do smell like kerosene. We are not quite sure yet if these will affect Taste but may update later if they do.

Fits my trays perfectly, micro greens grow well in this medium. A perfect replacement for dirt. Only issue I find with jute grow mats vs dirt is I have to watch the water / moisture closely, the jute mats tend to dry out quickly destroying your crop within hours. This is not unique to this brand mat just an issue IMHO with with jute / hemp mats in general. The cost of this larger mat is very reasonable per tray based on the amount of usable / sellable micro greens I get per tray using this mat. Very happy and hope to be able to buy this product in the near future when I need more mats.

The right thickness to retain water. Excellent for starting seeds and growing microgreens.

Love using these. Takes strain off of my eyes. Allows me to fall right asleep.
