Truly disquieting stories
They are geared towards young readers, but will appeal to adults as well. Stories by masters of horror, with grisly illustrations in black and white. Enjoyable!

Fun Anthology
Stephen Jones is always reliable when it comes to horror anthologies, and Terrifying Tales to Tell at Night, despite being geared toward a younger crowd, is just as good as I suspected. This anthology has two of my all time favorite horror stories in it, Neil Gaiman's "Click-Clack The Rattle Bag" and Stephen King's "Here There Be Tygers." "Click-Clack" is very short but very, very creepy. It definitely got under my skin. And "Tygers" was actually my first Stephen King story, way back when I was about 6 or 7.Ramsey Campbell's story, "The Chimney," is another excellent contribution, and another that I had read before. Based around a little boy who is very scared of something coming down the chimney in his room. Campbell is one of my all time favorite writers, and this is a great introduction for younger readers to his work. The rest of the stories were unfamiliar to me before I read this volume, but I enjoyed most of them. You really can't go wrong with the likes of Charles L. Grant, Manly Wade Wellman, and R. Chetwynd-Hayes.Excellent collection for all ages.

Awesome!~
At first I thought it was a knock off of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. But no, this is NOT! With awesome art and spooky stories from many different authors, including one by the King himself, I am psyched to read this!

A great collection of stories!
Even though it’s aimed mostly at the YA audience, I actually found this collection of stories very enjoyable! Some are outright spooky, some are more serious than the others and have much deeper subjects hidden under the facade of an ordinary scary tale, but all of them without exception are very well-written and hard to put down. I would definitely recommend this anthology to all fans of the genre, regardless of age.

Pretty good. The stories are long.
I’m really having a hard time finding good scary campfire stories. This book is actually pretty good. Some of the stories ramble on with the stories averaging 20 pages. Too long for a campfire tale but still fairly entertaining. On a scary scale of 1-10 I would rate this a 6.

Fanastic short stories
I loved this book of short scary stories. I hadn't read some of the authors before so it was a nice introduction. The illustrations were great too.

Ok scary tales
Not “the black cat” scary, but interestingly wove. Left me hanging a bit, but I did enjoy this book. 👍👍

Not what I expected
I haven't read scary stories for a while. Didn't find some of these particularly scary, and didn't understand a few others. I picked it up because Stephen King recommended it on Twitter, and even though I'm young at heart (and admit to often enjoying YA books), this one didn't wow me. But some great authors, so don't let me put you off it!
