This toy is FUN. The bracelets, necklaces and belts are colorful and easy to make. Referring to online videos helps the user understand some of the more complicated items quickly, and helps fill the gaps in the instructions that come with the kit. Making things is fun. Its been even more fun finding alternative uses for the completed strands. They can be used just like any decorative item: Using a friends favorite colors to design strands to sew/weave/ knit onto/into personalized craft projects, or matching a uniform's colors along with just a bit of accent color to create sewn in loops for work badges, or adding beads and sewing the result into spirals to make wall decorations ... the uses are as limitless as your imagination. This is not a big deal, however, the gears keep this from being a 5/5-star score item: After a fairly short time I changed to doing the twisting mostly by myself, because the gears grated and turned in an uneven, clunky fashion. The manufacturer's can't claim they insisted on top notch quality control there. Fortunately, its nearly as fast to use the kit for the parts its helpful for, and just do the color - covering (the gears job) by twisting the base threads myself, a bit at a time. Also, don't plan on rescuing any embroidery threads that you (at the kits instruction, for longer items) slip (or accidentally let slip) into the gears to hold. That won't work well - the threads look like the cat got to them after a trip between the gears. Speaking of 'the cat got to them', for safety I always keep the kit up away where the cat can't get to it when I have a project on it. I don't want to come home to find that he has swallowed some of the threads and now has to go to the vet for surgical extraction. Just a heads up, to be safe. None of these factors dims the overall enjoyment of playing with the Loopdedoo. The bracelets are quick, pretty and a lot of fun to make. I get my thread refills from the fabric store so I can customize colors, and I'd suggest doing that for the greater variety and lower cost. This is a great invention, and great fun. Using it always makes me smile.

A fun concept and my kids love making these bracelets but the instructions for the required knots are too much for my 8 and 10 year old kids. They still need adult help for the knots or else their creations quickly unravel which is disappointing

My 8 year old daughter has no patience to make typical friendship bracelets - they simply are too time consuming. This gadget certainly speeds things up! You can make a bracelet in 30 seconds or less. The wheel that you turn to make the bracelets seems to get stuck and is not very smooth which makes it frustrating, but not impossible. However, the instructions for the various types of bracelets to me are really confusing and we have only been able to make one simple twisted bracelet, but there is so much room to play with the thickness, # of strings/colors and spacing, that every bracelet comes out different and allows for a lot of variety. Overall, I wish the wheel had a smoother/more consistent spin and the ease of use was improved. My daughter needs me to assist with it, so it does not really allow for independent play... at least not for her at this age right now. I would still buy it though because it makes an otherwise daunting process (bracelet making) a lot quicker for more instant gratification!

Omg so much fun! So I bought this for my 9yo ( I actually kinda bought it because I wanted to play with it too) and she thinks it’s awesomeness! Everything about this toy is so much fun! Bracelets that it makes are beautiful and my daughter likes for me to make them for her so we both get the Best of both worlds. She gets bracelets and I get to loom!!! This is a definite must buy or something to put on your Christmas list for your child, and yourself…, LOL! As for everything else, the instructions are clear as a bell and easy to follow and you just can’t go wrong buying this thing. You will have so much fun with it I promise! OH! One last thing...you do need to buy more Embroidery floss… The ones that come with the loom are very blah and if you really want bracelets that pop you’re going to want to get one of those packages of 150 or so packs of embroidery floss! They are pretty cheap and there r tons to choose from on Amazon. I also recommend getting embroidery floss bobbins (the little cards that u wrap the embroidery floss onto...) so u don’t end up with a 150 Color ball of floss! It knots up very easily!

These were a very much appreciated birthday gift.
