I absolutely love the speaker, the sound is amazing! I use it every day in my office to play background music, but I also linked two of them together and DJ, a small wedding reception for a friend of mine. They were definitely loud enough. The lights pulse with the beat of the music and there are a few different light patterns to choose from. They are cool, but they were not a make or break feature when it came time to buy. This speaker is really portable - there are handles built into the top and bottom of the speaker making it easy to transport. It’s light enough that you only need one hand, but having the second handle is a nice feature. Bluetooth connects very easily. There is also a bass boost button on the top if you want to select a deeper base option. On the back, there is a USB port to charge your phone from the speaker directly, even if the speaker is running on battery power itself. As mentioned above, you are able to link two of these together for a fuller stereo sound.

It’s a good loud speaker for any event. It has a nice bass, good tweeters but needs better mids. It’s not crystal clear sound but it is a good sound and it does get pretty loud. It runs retail $349 if you can get it for under $300 it is a good purchase. JBL speakers are pretty good overall and they have a large selection. This speaker is easy to use and it has nice features for example aux in for your old iPod, it will read usb sticks with music playlists in them and with same USB port you can charge your phone in an emergency. It has a mic input with volume and gain control also a guitar input with volume and gain control. There is an aux out to link it. It can be paired wirelessly with a second partybox 100. It comes with a cable to plug to a wall outlet and charge it or you can use it plugged in for full sound. The battery life advertised is for no lights, no bass boost and low volume. If you are going to blast it full throttle it will last half the advertised battery life. It is nice that this size of speaker has a built in battery and several hours of play should be more than adequate. You can get a small 150watt inverter to charge it in your car. The lights are nice it has 3 modes they more or less follow the beat, you can turn them off if you wish. The strobes can be turned off and just the other lights can stay on. The construction it is very nice I really liked it, just black and some accents. It is on the heavier side for portability it’s only like 21lbs but still large for daily commute. It’s great for a playroom, family room, backyard party, even play it in your car just strap it on the backseat and jam out. If you work on a large warehouse or garage this will fit the bill too. One thing I did not like is that it is not IPX rated meaning it is not waterproof. It is subject to the elements so if it starts raining or you are near water just keep it away. Even if the shell looks strong I don’t think it’s shockproof either. The IPX and shockproof rating stopped me from giving it 5 stars. Overall a good loud speaker with good features, portable, with an internal battery.

This speaker sounds good and I'm glad that I purchased it. I have listened to quite a bit of music with this and I have come to a few different conclusions. Firstly every genre of music sounds good on it which is a plus side. I listened to a lot of edm (Dubstep, Deep House, Bass House etc . . .) and with the bass boost the bass kicks really nicely and rumbles. The one critique for edm on this speaker is that it doesn't deal with high sounding bass as well as sub bass, but still very good nonetheless. I also listened to a lot of rock, hip hop and piano music. Like edm, to me hip hop benefits from the bass boost option. Rock and obviously piano didn't really need it. The sound quality of everything else despite the booming bass is still good but not on par with the quality of the bass. To be honest I don't think most people will even notice any sound quality issues with this speaker. I only used bluetooth so it is possible any sound quality problems was due to bluetooth and if I had used an aux I wouldn't notice anything. Once again sound quality was no where near bad, just not perfect. Which is fine it doesn't need to be perfect since you aren't spending your life savings on the speaker. I think it's pretty fairly priced and I definitely recommend getting one if you are thinking about it. I personally think I might buy a newer and more expensive one in the future.

TLDR: I bought both this PartyBox 100 and the Sony GTK-XB72 at the same time because I couldn’t decide. The Sony is already boxed and back to UPS. The difference is night and day. The JBL wins hands down, just trust me on this one. Backstory: I worked at a shop and my buddy has the XB72 and I LOVED that thing. It filled the shop. I borrowed it for a party, I live on an acre, it had no problem filling my backyard. The speaker is loud and I was bound to have it. I saw it pop on sale (along with this PartyBox) and I ordered it. Total impulse buy. I got it, I loved it. I also had read about the PartyBox and after numerous reviews and comparisons... I wanted to know what I was missing. I decided to order it as well and decide first hand which I liked better. The JBL is clearer and cleaner sound, just as all of the reviews say. To my surprise, it also bested the XB72 in bass!! The light feature is more aesthetic as well. Granted, the XB72 has “more inputs”, an FM radio, partychain, bigger speakers... but it doesnt matter. If I need FM... I wont. Partychain... I dont plan on buying ten of these. I dont have ten friends with Sony’s. We dont partychain. The speaker size... bigger isnt always better. On to the JBL. This was on sale for only $50 more and boy was it worth it, As I’ve said, I love it. I plan on buying a second for the TWS (true wireless stereo) feature for parties and #GRIDLIFE! The sound, it is clearer, cleaner, higher, lower, deeper. The light feature is way cooler. It is marginally smaller overall. It is slightly lighter weight. Get this.... it has a battery. Sold. The speaker is better, period. Take my word for it. Take everyone’s word for it. I hope to someday have the extra coin to get the PartyBox 310 as well. Water resistant, wheels, telescoping handle, big boy version.

I've had this speaker for about 2 months, and I can confidently say this speaker is amazing for the price. At less than half volume the base shakes the entire house. I primarily use it in my car (weird I know, I just felt it a wiser choice to invest in a speaker vs a sound system since my car is 2003 and won't last very much longer), and at half volume it completely drowns out road noise and all music can be heard at a very comfy level. turn it up 75%, and the base again shakes the whole car. You can literally feel the sound reverberating through the seat, door, and pedals. As someone who listens to electro music, this speaker is a dream for less than 400 bucks. Highly highly highly recommend.
