Bb - Bb - Bb - Bb - Bb - Bb ~ NOT in the titled key of 'B'
Tony Dixon makes a nice whistle, and reasonably priced too, but, it's not as titled here in the key of 'B', what I'd wanted in order to more easily accompany a flat set of uilleann pipes in 'B'. It is in the more common key of 'Bb', as I've now discovered is given in the 'Product Description' for this whistle. I tried to find a way to suggest this correction on this page but that option isn't given here, so I've added this to warn anyone else who might mistakenly order it as a whistle in the key of 'B'.I'd have expected an Irish music store, north or south, to know the difference... But, I should have read the details. I was just excited to see a Dixon 'B' listed here, twice, as entered by the Northern Ireland company 1-to-1 Music. I've since written Amazon with hopes they will correct the title. Most other Bb whistles on site are titled correctly, excepting the Susato Oriol listed here on the site which is also wrongly titled as being in the key of 'B', a key that is available in Susato's Kildare line of whistles.Just to repeat ~ Dixon whistles are a good and recommended purchase. The one star was lost because of the false advertisement in the title. Dixon whistles, they deserve five ~ *****!
