CCTV Camera power supply especially for night vision
I have 16 cameras all with IR night vision, the original power supply didn't seem to have the juice for all the cameras IR's especially over 100 ft runs for some cameras. This year the power supply died to 8 of my 16 cameras, when I called where I bought it they stated the manufacture offers Life time warranty. Then told me they started this the year after I bought mine, so I was S.O.L..........great I explained what I had setup and that I had 16 cameras and they stated I needed more AMP,s then my old one offered for all those cameras........??????? They didn't state this when they originally sold this to me, and yet They were aware of my setup before.Disgusted I went elsewhere looking for 12V DC CCTV power supply with MAX amps. In my search I came across 12 AMP, 16 AMP, 20 AMP, and 24 AMP. Then I stumbled onto this one 12V DC 29 AMPS!!!!!for 18 cameras. ( Yes I still only have 16 no plans yet to add more ) I searched the internet and saw prices for this exact model ranging from as low as $69.99 to as high as $259 with the average price being $99. For $69.99 I jumped on it, shipping was fast IR on my cameras work great have yet to see it get hot enough for fan to come on automatically but it does get warm. Installation was easy, little tight along wire connections but not that big of a deal. Only down side is doesn't come with a Door lock. Be nice to have this to prevent thieves from cutting power to cameras. I just lock door to room where camera system is so NOT a deal breaker. Other minor issues would have liked trip switch instead of fuses. Also have to find a place for replaceable fuses haven't looked yet but need to in case a 1or 2 go.My opinion over all is can't go wrong with this power supply seems very well built and does the job well, just search around don't buy for $259 current price at time of this review $75 9/16/2013

I carefully drilled a 3" hole in the cabinet in front of the cooling fan to aid in cooling as I could see no way for it to cool properly without
No issues. It's been in service providing power to 18 of 32 cameras for about six months. I carefully drilled a 3" hole in the cabinet in front of the cooling fan to aid in cooling as I could see no way for it to cool properly without. The unit is installed in a summertime warm location. I will add additional cooling to the general area before next summer. It comes with extra fuses, but I recommend buying a box of spares as it is very easy to pop a fuse. It would be nice if the cabinet had plug in's for the typical camera to plug directly in without having to purchase the pig tails. It makes a much neater job not having 32 camera power supplies, safer since each line is protected. I have not performed a voltage drop test at each camera yet or a current test. It's doing what I bought it to do and I'm happy so far.

Great Power Supply, Must have for 16 cams
EDIT 9/22/17: see bottom, review changed from 1 star to 5I've been buying these for a while and they have been great. The 2 that just showed up today, however, are different. The item listing and the box stock label claim the power supply is 29 amps at 12 VDC. All of my previous units were, but the two I received today are only 12 amp.EDIT: the seller contacted me and informed me of an issue where similar items were mixed up at an Amazon facility. I was able to return the incorrect items and I ordered direct from the seller and received the correct items as described and they work great. I highly recommend this power supply enclosure for any CCTV installation. If your cameras have IR (night vision) functionality, a power supply of this size is a must. The average camera draws about 500 mA to operate, but when the IR LEDs are in use, they can pull 500 mA or more. If your cable length is >100 feet, the current draw is increased even more.Running 16 cameras off of one power supply can easily reach a 20 amp draw, and a good rule of thumb to work with is you never want to continuously operate (>1 hour periods of constant draw) a power supply over 80% of its rating. This product has plenty of power to spare and the enclosure it's in is well built, versatile, and spacious.

Did Not Work Out for Me
Purchased this unit to provide power to my 16 cameras CCTV system. Worked OK for all of 2 weeks then strangely I lost video to 3 of my cameras. I had purchased the very same unit from another supplier several years ago (at a much higher price) & experienced the same problem after about 2 years of use, so I was familiar with what was happening (not enough juice to go all around). Btw, did not know it was the same unit until I opened the box & was installing the product. I rectified the problem by powering each of those cameras with its own power source. Called the supplier of these units for Amazon & the technician, Calvin, was very polite & helpful. Explained to me how to check the amount of amps being supplied to each channel using a multi tester & told me to return the unit if the readings did not check out. That would mean purchasing a multi tester & possibly having the return window close. No brainer...I returned it. Interestingly, the cameras that were affected were of the high end ones with more bells & whistles. So, depending upon the type of cameras one has installed, it may function properly, but it certainly didn't for me. Fyi, none of the runs were over 100' & all of the fuses were intact.
