Happy
Bought these for our annual tubing trip when we found out we were expecting a bit of rain. It ended up raining for 30 minutes, and while everyone else in our group got soaked, my husband and I stayed pretty dry! Being on the tube also allowed us to crouch down, creating a turtle-like effect. They also worked great to provide shade. I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

Kept me dry in the rain!
Used once in the rain and thankfully, no wind. It was much larger than I thought it would be and it was absolutely the most ingenious thing! Kept my clipboard and clothes dry. I'm sure I may have looked silly, but who cares, I was dry! :-)Highly recommend!!

A Weird & Crazy looking but very highly Practical Umbrella Hat for use in both Rain & Sun!!!
This is my 2nd Umbrella Hat to date. My previous umbrella hat was much smaller and due to my size, and needs, I felt the need to go with this larger umbrella hat.So I had been looking forward to getting this newly-sized umbrella hat and have been very happy with it ever since it arrived. In terms of providing as good a review as possible, I will be listing the Pros and Cons and only dinged it 1 star for a 4 out of 5 stars rating due to the Cons...Pros:> It's completely Waterproof and Sunproof> It has an extended diameter of 37.4 for all-around head protection> It has a wind vent> It has heat-reflective cloth that also works well in the rain> The headband is somewhat adjustable.> It has an easy pull tab and a velcro strap to assist in disassembly and easy closure.> There is an adjustable chin strap that can be easily tightened to ensure it keeps the umbrella hat in place in light stormy or light windy weather.> This hat is very light and is easily foldable for easy portability in various items, like bags, and backpacks, or easily stored in cars, trucks, boats, etc.Cons:> Although this is the biggest umbrella hat to date, I am a huge fan of Golf/Stadium Umbrellas. So for my needs, I could use its diameter being a lot bigger than the current 37.4 inches size, and if it could reach Golf/Stadium Umbrella sizing, that would be great.> The wind vent is not as easy to set up as pictured.> As the headband is flexible, it could use having an elastic cord at the back end to help tighten or loosen it as needed.> The headband could also use a head cradle to help properly ensure the hat is being worn correctly> The headband is not conducive for sweaty foreheads and can be irritating, I get around it by wearing a sweatband.> I was a little surprised that this umbrella hat's headband's sizing came with a tighter fit than my previous umbrella hat, it's a minor irritation.> The chinstrap could be anchored to multiple points to help stabilize the umbrella more easily as well as provide a more secure fit when it gets windy. I get around it by tilting the umbrella hat as needed to minimize the wind's effect.> The chinstrap's current setup is not ideal and could use a Y-strap setup to allow it to more easily be fitted around one's ears by being both in front and in back of one's ears.> Having some key anchor points at the ends of the umbrella hat would be great to allow one to add cords to help stabilize the hat in windy weather would also be a great add.> As noted in the details, this Umbrella Hat is not rated for windy weather, for the most part, I have gotten around it by tilting my head as needed and when necessary, I do go and switch to a backup hat that I carry in a spare pocket for use when needed.> Having the heat reflective cloth be a more brilliant sliver or adding a brilliant reflective Yellow, a fluorescent Safetly Lime or even a fluorescent Safety Orange color option would make this hat highly visible in rainy weather, (especially in the rainy evenings), and would be deeply appreciated to have as an option. I have gotten around this visibility limitation by ordering highly reflective stickers to place on my umbrella hat and that has improved the visibility. As noted at the beginning, I consider this umbrella hat a good rain & sun hat that I have enjoyed wearing. Although it does inspire some laughter from friends and family and even second looks from strangers, they all acknowledge it meets the need to keep my hands free and allows me to focus on tasks versus having to also balance holding an umbrella. Overall with that in mind, I would highly recommend this Umbrella Hat to anyone needing the use of both hands in either rainy or sunny weather.

Headband is a nylon strap
The biggest complaint I have with it is that the headband is a nylon strap that is not adjustable and not comfortable for long term use. The chin strap has to be worn or the umbrella will fly off of your head. You can expect pressure lifting or pushing it down on your head and neck, not sure how that could affect you physically long term. It’s a neat idea, but a wide brim, comfortable hat is more practical.

Neighbors laughed but now they want one!
Looks goofy but serves it's purposes with great results. No more burning up in the sun. Don't care what our sunburned neighbors say. They saw this and with the scorching weather they want one too to work in their garden. LOL - Thanks D

Great Idea
I have been looking for an umbrella to use while kayaking. And I think I have finally found it. I've had skin cancer and need to be in the shade, but love to be active. I've used hand held umbrellas and have tried to secure them on the kayak, but its impossible... I think this is going to be perfect. I have already found other uses like gardening, mowing the lawn and plan on using it at a pool bday party and kids soccer game. I may look funny to people, but I'm happily out of the sun!

Lovely death trap!
This is a very dangerous device if your goal is to use it as a handsfree umbrella for E-scooter or bicycle use.On a day of slight rain, and very little to no wind at all i decided to give it a try. At first it seemed lovely and extremely useful. Exactly what i needed until a slight wind blew as a car drove by. The umbrella caught the wind and nearly yanked me from the scooter into traffic, then now loosened by that experience its loose head wrapping fell. Blocking my vision and forcing me to come to a complete stop and remove it completely or suffer the danger every single time a car was anywhere near me ever.It was cheap, but clearly cheap for a reason. This will kill you. Do not buy unless your plan is to use it while standing still no where near wind.
