Good 'cluck' for the buck
Smaller than I expected at about 7", but I found the sculpting detail very good, and the snap together parts fit perfectly. Took awhile to assemble because we couldn't find the instructions easily, though the info booklet that it came with had some unexpected and accurate anatomical explanations, like 'lungs are affixed to thorax and don't expand, some bones are hollow and part of the respiratory system' ( paraphrased). One side of the bird is crystal clear for viewing, the other half shell is painted Leghorn white. Only criticism would be that in the model the lungs were free-floating and difficult to keep in place during assembly. Totally worth the price, in my opinion.

Not for kids, maybe not even adults.
Horrible to assemble. Instructions are lacking! What's even worse is when you try to assemble it, it doesnt stay together. The pieces fall apart immediately. You would have to glue it together if you wanted it to stay- which defeats the purpose.

I love this chicken model
While the model is not the easiest thing to put together, it’s very educational and incredibly interesting. A great value for the money and I would recommend it to any school teacher in biology or homeschooling. It really is a great model and the best way to learn is hands-on in my opinion and this really is great.

Big but difficult
The hardest thing to assemble, the pieces didn't fit together well, and there was no space for everything. I left it in the packaging to assemble separately.

Smaller than expected and not able to see through the clear section of the framework due to the mould having a feathered appearance.

and they're excellent for show-and-tell for aspiring veterinarians and animal scientists
I have five of these total, and they're excellent for show-and-tell for aspiring veterinarians and animal scientists. I love this one in particular because of its size relative to the others - seriously, it's bigger than the cow and the horse. I call it Godzilla Chicken. One bad thing: it's a b*tch to assemble and it doesn't stay together as well as the others. Smaller parts, too, so they'd be more likely to be lost if it's frequently disassembled and assembled.
