Could you check the model number on your mbp back? If the model number is A1465 A1466 A1398 A1502, then you can choose the one you like, short or standard, they are same.

It should be fine. Works for MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2015) and MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2015).

This is only a convert card, it do nothing for speed. If your desktop's motherboard and NVME drives support that, then it should work as you asked. Normally, the answer is YES. But please read your motherboard manual first.
