It's vacuum insulation is astonishing... but it becomes useless if the lids are not well designed.The 22 oz version comes along with a stainless steel lid and a flip lid. The stainless steel lid provides vacuum insulation and is leak proof, both of which are great BUT when it comes to usability it fails: the hole for drinking is too wide, so forget about drinking while on the move if you don't want to splash water all over.The flip lid solves that problem, the drinking hole is small so you can drink while on the bus or walking BUT it's not vacuum insulated nor leak proof, so forget about cold drinks (the lid sweats A LOT) or putting the bottle in your bag (it will leak).What's worse, I contacted Simple Modern about this and they just replied the do have a lid that is vacuum insulated, leak proof and has a small hole for drinking, so I could proceed and buy it. To be fair, they gave me a coupon so the lid would be free when buying from their webpage BUT I would have to pay for the shipping. I don't live on the US, and every buy I make comes with extra taxes. I decided not to buy the extra lid, cause I think that when you buy a product, that's it, you shouldn't have to pay extra in order to rectify deficiencys.

I wasn't going to review this yet as I wanted a few more times out, but I got asked to review. I have tried to use this daily since I received it. I will start with the pros.ProGreat looking and feeling. I was impressed when I opened the box it looked and felt great.Not heavy when filled with water and a little ice.Comes with 2 tops.ConsThis thing leaks. Do not throw it into a bag unless you want wet clothes.This is my biggest one. I wanted a bottle I can carry when on the track, it came with an extra top with a carrying loop. It seemed big enough to carry even with large hands but other then the very very center of the loop it is very very sharp and uncomfortable to carry unless you use one finger and that also makes it uncomfortable to carry this was one of my #1 problems and is unforgivable as it is possible for someone to get hurt.The top with the carry handle also does not allow much water to flow at all so it was much harder to stay hydrated because of that.Did I mention it leaks.I really do wish this had been better it was a mid priced option and it looked and felt great but I find myself going to buy a bottle of water out of the vending machine instead of using it each time which increased my overall cost and I had to break my workout routine more then once.

Overall, I love the bottle; my issues are with the lids. If a different lid came standard with this bottle, this would EASILY be a 5-star product.The good:- Water and other beverages taste CLEAN in this bottle. No funky odors and no metallic or other unwanted tastes.- Beverages stay cold without making the bottle sweat and stay hot without burning your hands.- Coating looks and feels nice (mine's red).- Size: 14 oz. Originally, I was surprised (aka disappointed) at how small the 14 oz bottle looked and felt, but I actually carry this bottle everywhere I go, unlike the 24 oz assorted bottles I always leave at home. I'm a petite adult (5'0"), and this size feels perfect for me for daily use (because I have fairly easy access for refilling with clean, cold water). This would be a perfect size for putting in an older elementary/middle schooler's lunch.The bad:- The metal lid is really nice, but doesn't allow for easy drinking because there's no smaller opening, so you have to totally unscrew the lid and drink from the wide mouth. (Not ideal if driving, walking, clumsy, etc.)- The flip lid would address the above issue, BUT IT'S NOT LEAKPROOF! The only thing I can figure is that it was supposed to be leakproof, but they realized it leaked and started throwing it in the box for free to get rid of them. It basically has no value because it leaks.- The chug lid is AWESOME, but you have to pay extra ($10 on Amazon or "free" plus $3.99 on their website). ***If they sold the bottle with the option of any lid of your choice, this would be 5 stars!!!*** But as it currently stands, it's $16 for the bottle plus $4 to $10 for a leakproof, drink-friendly lid, bringing it to $20 to $26 for a small bottle!- Note (if you're considering buying a chug lid): the drinking opening on the chug lid is rather small. I'm tiny, so it's fine for me, but I think it would feel too small for a normal-sized adult. Good size for kids.- The bottle makes a loud, clanging, canteen-like sound if tapped (eg, with your keys). You can buy a rubber piece for the bottom to dampen the noise, but that's another $10.If I could buy these with the chug lid included instead of the leaky flip lid, I'd definitely buy several for my kids. But until then, it's just too much $$ and hassle to buy more (unless it was priced differently).

I ordered 2 of the small ones for my 6 and 9 year old and a larger for my teen. We live in Honolulu and there is no AC in the schools so it gets quite hot. I needed something to keep their water cold all day. After buying cups from a local box store that claimed to keep drinks cold for 16+ hours and failed miserably I ordered these. My kids are so happy! They filled these with ice and water at 7am and when they came home at 3pm the cups were still over 1/2 full of whole pieces of ice. Keep in mind with the smaller cups they are refilling 2-3+ times a day. My oldest still had almost the same ice she left with. This was all day in 80+ degree temps. The small water bottles are the perfect size for little hands. So far I'm extremely happy with this purchase. My only negative is I wish they made a flip straw option for the lids.

I had been looking for a flask or travel mug for a while that kept my tea hot for a reasonable amount of time, that wasn't super expensive or ridiculously cheap. And I'm not joking when I said I was looking for a while.Then I came across this bad boy. I love the fact that it comes with two lids so that I can change it depending on when I use it. I use the stainless steel lid if it is going to be in my bag, zero leakage. And the other lid when I am in class or the office so I can drink it easily.When I go walking I fill it with tea, on a usual walk I am out in the hills for up to six hours and the temperatures are often very low, in the minuses. The tea is still hot after the walk.This is the best flask I have ever bought and such a good price too. Only complaint might be it keeps my tea too hot, but that's going too far!I've reccomended this to everyone I know!

Good quality water bottle. Doesn't keep drinks cold/cool for as long as some others, but for a few hours it does the job. I tend to keep it in the fridge, so it's extra chilled. I haven't used the sip lid, only the silver one, as I like to use the adjoining strap as a carry handle. Really nice matt blue colour. Has a nice wide neck, so filling and cleaning is very easy, and the bottle is just the right diameter to hold comfortably. As far as I know it doesn't leak - I say this as I only use it at home, so it's always kept upright. Comes boxed, so would make a great gift. In hindsight, I just wish I'd purchased the slightly larger version.

when i first received this, it was slightly leaking. Much to my delight, the customer service of this company is amazing and the problem was resolved. I was going to send it back but now use this for travel (as i just keep it upright in a backpack) and it does what is says on the tin. Keeps water cold for the longest time (i filled it up with ice at a starbucks at heathrow and once i got to my destination 7 hours later, the ice had not melted!!!). i love it. Thanks Simple Modern for being such a great company.Now i just want to know how i can get another lid for it!

These are brilliant. Keeps ice frozen for 24 hours! They also do not sweat at all. I think all of the lids match whatever size you get as well, so if you buy 2 different sizes, the lids will match, so you can interchange them as needed. They are a bit heavy & a bit pricey but it's worth it for keeping the drinks warm or cold for the amount of time these do. I would highly recommend these. I have bought 3 of them and use them every single day. Perfect for at home or travel. DO NOT WASH IN DISHWASHER, wash by hand.

An excellent product that I wish I'd found sooner. I've got the 1L and 530ml versions of these bottles, one in stainless steel and the other in powdered black. They are both excellent. Came with a nice lid and also a separate drinking lid which is great. The smaller one is much more portable and the powdered coating is not what I expected. It doesn't feel at all like its been painted. Good build quality and because they are stainless steel they are extremely durable
