Water filters into your mouth, not into bottle
I purchased this to filter water for drinking and making tea in my electric kettle during travel for work. For drinking purposes, the water is good, but keep in mind you are only getting about 500mls - it’s not a lot of water, similar to what you get with a regular sized bottle of water. The straw does require some strong sucking in order to work. Think of a pretty think milkshake. Not at all like sucking water through a straw. For traveling and keeping up your large fluid intake, there may be better options available. For backpacking, it could work, but again, 500mls at a time isn’t a lot, if you wanted to add a powder or something to the water you would have to remove the filter (and it may not work - not sure). But you wouldn’t be able to make your coffee or camp meal with the water. To do this, you would have to invert the bottle and repeatedly shake the water out (which you probably wouldn’t want to do this for ten minutes when you are already exhausted and hungry from a hike). For backpacking, unless you are going ultra ultra light and time is not an issue for you, a traditional water filter like a Katadyn is probably more practical. For using with my kettle during travel, again, I have to stand there and shake the water through the filter and straw and into the kettle - it’s not practical for my needs. I probably could have researched it a bit more before buying - the water filters into your mouth, not into the bottle. You are however keeping single use plastic bottles out of the landfill, so that is a good thing. The straw mechanism does leak. I keep this in the side pouch of my backpack, which I often toss onto the hotel bed when I get in - this has caused some disappointing surprises. So just be mindful of the leak potential.

Perfect for any trip or hike
Purchased this for a Caribbean cruise worrying that at some of the port stops I might need to clean the water before drinking it. It was perfect. I didn’t worry about which water fountain I filled it from, it always had the same fresh, clean taste. Used it daily throughout the trip. Two things to note: - one problem was how hot it would get at the beach. Always had to make sure I filled it with lots of ice due to the lack of insulation. - second issue was the pressurization on the flight. I had read that you needed to leave the lid unscrewed a bit to ensure it didn’t leak and I had forgotten. When I went to take a sip on the flight, I opened the spout and water started shooting out of the spout. Luckily my backpack was waterproof and my clothes dried before landing. On the flight home I made sure I unscrewed the lid a bit and didn’t have any issues

Feels like an engineering marvel!
Are you looking for something that can really filter water? Maybe you just saw the trend with vodka and want to see the news. Either way this is certainly a great purchase if you're looking for a way to clean the water you're consuming. I should mention that the fact that it needs to be wetted before usage with clean water is a little frustrating from a hiking perspective, but its easy to get around that and the tool is second to none! Overall, a fantastic purchase for ensuring clean, potable water, albeit with a minor initial inconvenience that's easily surmountable.

Did the job but it leaks
I used this water bottle during my trip to Bali. I did not put tap water in the bottle. I only put filtered water in the bottle, and I did not have any stomach problems (until the last night but I am 99% sure it was the food I ate). However, my husband did not use this bottle and just drank the filtered water straight from his nalgene and had mild to moderate stomach problems almost our whole trip. Pros: Helps filter water, although I would not use it on tap water because it may not remove viruses from the water. Easy to drink from Easy to fill Clip that makes it convenient to clip to a bag. Eco friendly compared to buying bottled water. Cons It doesn't filter viruses so I did not trust it with all water Leaks really bad. It leaks from the mouthpiece sometimes, but I couldn't figure out why or how to predict when that would happen. I think when you invert the bottle while it's closed and then open it, the pressure inside the bottle makes water come out of the mouth piece. If I was careful to keep it upright, even when it was closed, it didn't seem to leak. Mouthpiece is exposed, which did not feel hygienic. Does not hold much water. Overall I was happy with this product, but I would have been much happier if it didn't leak and the mouthpiece was more protected. My husband was regretful that he didn't buy one before our trip and started using mine towards the end of our trip and noticed his stomach problems improved.

Received my LifeStraw Go 2-stage filtration bottle today. Looks well made. I had read some negative comments on here so thought I would give my thoughts - I prepared it as per instructions and used it on tap water to test it: - The lid seals well on the bottle with no leaks - The mouthpiece doesn't leak when closed - however, water can get through the mouthpiece if it is not closed shut - when I turned the bottle upside down with the mouthpiece open there was a constant dripping of water and so it's important the mouthpiece is fully closed when in a bag - I don't see this any different to other bottles of this type though - I found the water flowed very easily on drinking - hardly any more effort than a normal drinking bottle - however, the mouthpiece does come with a clear protective (hygiene) thin plastic sleeve on it over the silicone (like for example mouthwash often has over the cap) - it must be removed - this protective plastic actually has a small hole in it - I inadvertently tried the bottle without removing it because there is nothing in the instructions about it and it's not immediately obvious that this plastic sleeve should be/can be removed (being clear shrink wrapped film - I wonder if others who found it difficult to get water through left this in place? - The taste of the water was no worse - in fact I would say better - than the fresh water straight from my tap I tested it with - absolutely no other residual taste Looking forward to trying it out for real on my next big hill walk

Amazingly designed product. Easy to use, hygienic, great design, good filter quality. I wanted to use this when travelling through trains in India, as I wanted to avoid water from plastic bottles for two reasons 1) Suspect quality of water inside these bottles and 2) to shun Single use plastic bottles which are extremely harmful for the environment. Lifestraw took away all my tensions, as I could fill it with water from the tap at stations, where RO water was not available. One bottle is sufficient for 1 person, as it is for 650 ml only. It is also easy to clean and very hygienic, as it's sipper flips in and has a silicone cover.

My son is in Asian military that serves water that tastes worse than the swimming pool. Buying this for Christmas just made his day. He said the bottle follows him everywhere he goes (and he's a unit commander). That's saying something. He was heart broken when he accidentally toppled it and broke its mouthpiece. I've asked every store and there's no part replacement. It's so expensive, it's practically an investment. I'm really battling whether to buy him another, and I have a feeling I'm gonna lose the arm wrestling and give in. It's really a wonderful product. Kudos to the business owner!

Articolo molto consigliato, arrivato in tempi perfetti.
