If you've used 3M VHB tape you know it works great. I've used it for everything from fish tank sumps to automobile spoilers and trim. This time it was to replace the knock-off double sided tape that came on my upper roof spoiler for my car.The key for this tape is to use it on non-porous material like glass, gloss auto paint (not household wall paint), metal etc. Make sure to prep the surface and do a final clean wipe and dry with alcohol before applying the tape. This stuff holds incredibly well if you do your part to prepare the surface. On my previous cars I've used it for trunk lip spoilers for over 10 years and it holds up to the weather and abuse. never failed or peels. Its my go to tape for such applications. Its not meant to be easy to remove.I bought the 0.4" width in this listing as there are 2 strips down my spoiler. one strip is .4" and the other is .5" I'm glad they sell many different sizes.

Using this to put lights under the awning of our travel trailer. I have no doubt it will never come loose. Great product.

I purchased this tape to re-install a Weathertech passenger side window deflector on my car. The same deflector had come loose once before, and Weathertech had sent me gratis, a small amount of their tape, so I could re-install it. It lasted a couple years and then fell off again. I was looking for a tape with stronger adhesive. The 3M tape is also much thicker than the Weathertech tape, giving me more confidence. This 3M tape was easy to cut & apply, after cleaning/preparing the surface of the deflector as instructed with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Then I installed the deflector back into the window on the affected door. As it is about the same width, it installed without being visible at all. Outside temp was in mid-20's C, with high humidity. Next day I was unable to move the deflector at all, so a very good seal seems to have been made. It also experienced a thunderstorm and hard rain after being installed. Time will tell overall, but I am impressed with the strength of the tape after only about 24 hours. If any of the other deflectors come out, I will have lots more tape left to deal with them, as I only used about 2 ft. so far. I will also find out how well it adheres during the winter, as temps go as low as -30C occasionally here.

Took me a long time to prove this, but this stuff comes from China and although it says 3M on the middle ring, it's not. True 3M comes in a sealed package with 3M labelling all over it. With that being said, I used this to attach the fender lips on my Silverado, and also used it to affix some underwater RGB strip lights to my boat. In both cases, they stayed attached. (somewhat amazingly for the boat)So it's not 3M, but it's good.Docked one point for pretending to be something it's not.
