Perfect Fall Read
This has easily become one of my favorite graphic novels! Everything from the story, the character design, the dialogue, the backgrounds. I LOVED every page! The visuals were stunning and I liked that there weren’t any sound effects which allowed my imagination to fill in the gaps! I hope there is much more done with this series, I can’t wait to read the second issue!

Moth's Delivery Service
This graphic novel tells the story of Moth Hush, an upbeat but lonely teenage outcast growing up in a small, tight-knit colonial town, who, shortly after turning thirteen, finds out she comes from a long line of witches. Her mother has eschewed magic, however, and is unwilling to talk to Moth about witchcraft, preferring to leave history behind. This is, of course, not acceptable to our teenage protagonist, who is only too eager to find out more about the place to which she might finally belong. Her exploration into the past spells out mostly trouble, though, and soon stirs up old grudges and grievances. Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite Studio Ghibli movie (and also, if we're being honest, probably my favorite film full stop). I love pretty much everything about: from the story to the setting to the oh-so-lovable characters. It's a movie that perfectly showcases the kind of everyday, commonplace courage that Miyazaki is so fond of portraying. I got major Kiki vibes from The Okay Witch and that was the main reason I picked it up. And there are similarities, to be sure: they are both endearing and intensely charming stories about young women trying to figure out where they fit in the world. The Okay Witch does its own thing with the premise though, and tells an effective story about prejudice — and, indeed, pride — with characters who deal with the haunted past in varying ways: the townsfolk, who hold it to the highest regard; the witches, who, witnessed first hand the cracks in the form of bigotry and persecution, and understandably wish to leave it all behind; Moth's mother, Calendula, who believes in change above all. And then there is Moth, prepared to push the bad aside, yearning to embrace the good, and perfectly willing to build a better world out of it all. She's got the kind of courage to deliver it to us, too.

An OUTSTANDING Witch
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT MOTH HUSH! Her family and her familiar, her history and her humor, her witchery and her witching worlds. This is one beautifully written and exceptionally illustrated book that I would have read until it fell apart when I was Moth's age. Buying multiple copies for my classroom, because I expect my students will do the same!

I bought this book for my daughter and she loved it. She loves reading comics so why not get her this one? She said that it was great and that it had a great purpose. I recommend anyone who likes comics to get this book and if you don’t like comics I think you should try it! It’s good to try new things in life. Definitely a 5/5

The Okay Witch 🧙♀️
I liked how there was romance. I liked how there were arguments every reader likes a good conflict. I wish there was an extra ocean where she uses magic in school.

8yo daughter LOVED this book!
I got this book for my daughter because another book I was looking to get was BOGO 1/2 off. My daughter loves graphic novel style books and this one looked like she'd enjoy it. She read it in maybe 2-3 days but only because I asked her to slow down. lol. She says all the time how she wishes there was a second book for this.

I recently finished "The Okay Witch: Volume 1" and absolutely loved it! This graphic novel is a delightful blend of magic, self-discovery, and relatable teenage experiences. The story follows Moth Hush, a young witch who discovers her magical heritage and navigates the challenges of growing up in a small town. The illustrations are vibrant and full of personality, perfectly complementing the engaging narrative. The characters are well-developed, and Moth’s journey is both heartwarming and entertaining. The themes of family, friendship, and self-acceptance are handled with sensitivity and charm, making it a wonderful read for both kids and adults. The book is not only fun and captivating but also beautifully drawn, with detailed artwork that brings the magical world to life. I can’t wait for the next volume! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a good mix of magic and coming-of-age adventures.
