Academy ACA13264 Model Kit, Various

Got this for my 17 year old grandson for Christmas and he loved it.

While the model is alright with good detail the instrestions could be better. How the hoses connect to the fiful is a little vague.

Great kit

This kit is getting quite long in the tooth now and is not up to today's standard - especially for such a renowned vehicle as the Tiger I. The most apparent and glaring error is the symmetrical turret which is totally in the wrong shape. The real turret is asymmetrical to allow room for the breech and loader. The decals are not accurate for the versions indicated - most notably for Tiger Is that fought with "Das Reich" during the Kursk offensive. Detail is soft and clunky as one might expect for a kit of this age. The tracks are horrible stiff vinyl and are best replaced. The figures are not worth mentioning as no serious modeller would consider them. It has details of both the mid and early Tiger, which is, of course , inaccurate. The feifel tubes are just rubber hoses and in no way represent anything close to what was actually used. That being said if you are not too concerned with accuracy it will build up fairly easily. If you are into accuracy buy Dragon, Rye Field or a newer Tamiya boxing. A complete listing of errors can be found on David Byrden's "tigerIinfo" page.

Bought for my sons birthday and he loves these kits. He spends days making these rather than on his computer so all round happy!!!

You will be able to find much better kit of tiger 1 then this and much easy to put together .

Academy hat hier einen Bausatz von 1998 neu aufgelegt und mit vier zusätzlichen Soldaten versehen.Der Bausatz ist sehr detailreich und kann in vier verschiedenen Endversionen gebaut werden. Die Teile passen sehr gut und es wird tief ins Detail gebastelt.Es ist möglich die Luken offen zu lassen und somit ein Diorama mit den Soldaten und weiterem Zubehör wie Munition, Fernglas usw zu bauen.Eine kleine Kritik gibts für die Bauanleitung, die mir gerade beim Laufwerk nicht sehr deutlich vorkam.Das Schachtellaufwerk des Tigers hat drei versetzt hintereinanderliegende Radreifen! Mit guten Augen erkennt man das die Radreifen sehr kleine Nummern haben und somit dann doch klar unterschieden werden können.Dieser Bausatz ist für viele Stunden basteln gut, da sehr viel klein Teile dabei.Absoluter Kauftipp!

Schöner Bausatz, war sehr positiv über die Qualität überrascht, viele kleine Details und alles passt perfekt zusammen, teilweise besser als Big R... Ist nicht der letzte Bausatz von Academy.
