Hsing-I Chuan: The Practice of Heart and Mind Boxing

This book is truly the only source outside a good teacher you will ever need to delve into one of the oldest martial arts in the world. It is not a small manual or a book on a specific piece of the art, it is huge! Its gotta way a good 2 to 3 pounds. Covering in great detail everything you need to or would want to know. From history to philosophy to the art itself. The authors have a true passion and clearly wrote this to instruct properly. Take your time, read everything, don't rush ahead or you'll lead yourself to a frustrating incomplete practice. My one and only qualm, is that the photos are just a little small and not crystal clear. The perfect descriptions make up for it and if you have internet you can probably find something else demonstrating. Worth the price and your time if you are interested in learning being I in this life. Happy training and amituofo friends!

This book is very thorough. I recommend if you are looking to take this system seriously.

Just received the book and I would call this the ultimate Hsing-I compendium. Not only will you have detailed information on all of the elements, animals and forms with corresponding pictures, you have the history, forward from senior students, Taoist philosophy and it's relation to Hsing-I and much more.A must have for any Hsing-I practitioner.

Wow!!! I've collect a lot of Hsing Yi books but this one, is a masterpiece! Very well written and illustrated. It's a must have!
