The Encyclopedia of Earth: A Complete Visual Guide

This book is a great reference. I'm a zoologist, wildlife biologist and this book is an absolute, abbreviated compilation of nearly every point of environmental sciences that I've taken. I wanted a good book to refer to land biomes, mountains, glaciers and such, and this book really is well put together. It seems good for all ages to thumb thru. It's both college level and simple enough for children to hopefully get really interested by the fun facts and pictures. I bought used and it shows no sign of use.Great book.

Out of ALL of the books in my library regarding earth science, this one takes the cake. An amazing, all-inclusive book on structural geology, geomorphology, hydrology, and even vulcanology. Vast amounts of information accompanied by exquusite photos! I paid a 17.00 late fee on it from the library because I didn't want to let it go, and now I own it. Its a gem!!!!

I'm a biology professor, bookworm, and self-declared nerd, but anyone I know would also love and understand this classic. Buy it for yourself, or as a gift. Money well-spent.

I love this book! I had checked it out of the library and had to have my own copy to keep at home: full of beautiful photos and lots of interesting information.

Very good reference book but also easily read like a story as it is set up in chronological order. The pictures and diagrams are great and keep the text from becoming dry or boring.

If you are at all interested in geology and the earth under your feet, then you should read this book. It is more of a textbook (with great photos!), but much more readable than any I had in school.
