SD Scope Rifle Scope w/Side Rail Mount (3-9x24mm FFP Scope)

I've wanted an SVD scope for my AK for a long time. So I was excited and a little worried when I ordered this one from TPO. The reason I was worried was the price was almost 50 percent lower than I've seen lately and there has been mention of airsoft. I was worried this might be a scope that was specifically created for an air soft rifle and not the military SVD rifle. Well, I'm not an expert, though I have fired an Russian SVD a few times and have looked at a few tiger carbine's and what I can say is the quality and workmanship on this scope is at least equal to if not better than the scopes on those rifles. While the SVD is an almost mythical weapon, the workmanship on one was always a little rough compared to western rifles. So I can say with out any reservation, "I am extremely happy with this purchase"! The workmanship is great, much better than I expected.Since I haven't mounted this on my AK yet. I cant give you a review of its ability's to hold zero etc. I still haven't decided if I will order a SVD mounting rail, or order an AK mounting rail and an AK adapter for the quick release mount. That is something to note. This is a scope for an SVD., SVD's and AK's mounts are not interchangeable. If you have an AK with an AK rail, then you need to buy the AK mount adapter to use with your rail.Since part of the reason I bought this scope was for an investment. I will probably opt for the SVD rail. Imported Military equipment tends to be expensive when first available, then when there's a large influx, the price drops to what I would consider affordable prices like this scope is now. But it never fails, due to politics the supply will dwindle in a few years the price will rise and keep rising. In 5 to 10 years I expect the cost of this scope to double if not triple, which is a good enough reason to own one whether you want to upgrade your SVD, AK or your airsoft copy of the svd. Its like owning silver, but you get to take it out shooting and then sell it for a profit in the future if you are so inclined.

Every bit as clear and functional as Russian and Belarusian designs. Has additional features like turret caps and attached lens cap. Illumination is clear and bright. Mount works fine, but personally I would rather have a traditional AK or SVD style base. Mount base can be changed if preferred as it is bolted on. Overall a great buy, especially for the price. Texas Precision Optics has great customer service too and responds quickly to questions. Very happy with this purchase and will buy another in the future.

This is not what I expected to get. Even though in the pictures you can see the NPZ label, this is not a russian scope. The dials are very hard to use since there is play in them. Also there is distortion present at lower magnifications. And the last the paint is coming off the numbers on the dials. Honestly pretty disappointed since i have used sniper products before and they were alright.

The scope fits just like it is supposed to, the finish on the scope itself is fantastic, very clear glass, easy to read reticule, the illuminated reticule (taking a single AA battery) and first focal plane crosshair are features that aren’t available at similar price points elsewhere.The adjustment knobs are tactile and easy to use, after a quick zero things stay where you left it; definitely seems like a great buy for the money. The true test of value is how it holds up over time, but the quality is there so I’m confident it will hold up.

best scope for a PSL rifle the optics are crisp and clear, the metal is of great quality, the illumination is spot on pun intended,very speedy delivery ,this is one of the best scopes i ever purchased if they make others i will buy them from this company again i hope they keep up the great work scope it out i give it Five Stars GOD bless you all and Thank You

Not only are these better than the older soviet posp scopes, the company includes extra accessories that aren’t even advertised. I recieved spare mounts, camo case, batteries, and everything. 10/10 recommend.

While the description states this scope will mount on a AK-47, the only way to do so is to remove the standard AK side mount from the rifle and replace with the mount that comes with the scope. As the mount is riveted on and uses a different hole pattern then the mount that comes with the scope, changing the mount is easier said then done. It also appears that the locking block on the scope is made of aluminum vs steel.
