Exactly what I was shopping for
I was looking for a laptop stand that filled the following criteria, listed in order of importance:1: very portable -- would fit in laptop case or otherwise easily carried2: very sturdy -- should be able to hold a standard laptop without trouble at any angle3: small footprint -- should not create more clutter3: adjustable -- nice to be able to adjust to a variety of tilt angles, but should be able to hold laptop nearly vertical4: multi-purpose -- nice to be able to double as a stand for e-reader (or actual book), &cMy main need/desire is to hold my ThinkPad T430s at a nearly vertical angle (open) to use an external (wired) keyboard and thus have a more properly ergonomic setup with the screen at eye height and a not-a-laptop-keyboard under my fingers. I also have several other laptops, from a monster Sony Vaio to various stages of Apple development so I'd like to be able to use a stand with these (particularly that Apples with their much nicer built-in keyboards) but at a much lower angle. I also read a lot when I'm not typing, so being able to set a book or e-reader on the stand would be a nice perk. This stand fills all those criteria beyond what I had hoped to find, especially for the price! Granted, you can get much more expensive stands that are much sturdier but also not nearly as portable, or as adjustable, or nearly as small of footprint. This stand seems to be very solidly built (it feels solid and locks tightly into place). The front leg extensions work perfectly to provide a large surface area for the laptop to sit on and are perfectly sized for book or e-reader when retracted. The rear leg can be set to any practical angle and locks into place nicely. The unit can be unpacked and set up in literally about 5 seconds, then packed back up just as quickly. A nice extra touch is the included carry bag to keep the stand and anything adjacent to it in the laptop case from getting dinged.Having read other reviews before purchase, I notice there are many people who agree that the stand is very solid but others say it is flimsy or doesn't work as expected. To the latter, I have to wonder if the quality control isn't what it should be, but for my own stand I'm very happy to say I seem to have got one of the good ones.

I would purchase this again.
My wife and I work at home pretty regularly, so we need to have a set up where we could port our laptop into a home office system. While this thing isn't the most solid computer stand, it works great for us and folds up for easy portability. The angle works well, because we can plug out laptop in the other monitor and angle the laptop monitor to create a dual monitor set up. With the set up we have, we plug a wireless mouse and keyboard into the laptop, so we don't have to use the laptop to type while it is on the stand. I don't think I would like this stand if I had to type on it regularly. If you were to regularly use the keyboard while it is on the stand, the laptop would move around and probably fall off often. This because the laptop is only supported in three spots, so the laptop can be prone to tipping when you are near the corners toward the top. Kind of like old school 3 wheel ATVs would tip when going fast around the corner (if that makes sense). We have a 15.6 laptop we use, so I'm not sure how other sizes would work on it. The stand size is adjustable. Overall, I could definitely see that this stand wouldn't be the best choice for all users, but after reading other reviews it is exactly what I expected when I purchased it and for our set up it works very well.

Great stand for MacBook Pro
When I use my MacBook Pro at my desk I hook it up to a keyboard, mouse and two monitors. It sat below the two monitors so I'd put books or something to give it a lift. I was always concerned about getting enough air to keep it cool. This works great for that purpose and lifts my MacBook screen to an equal height of my two 24 inch monitors. It's easy to open up and adjust: the two legs split out, feet lift up and the support opens up to go from a slight incline to not quite straight up.It is a sturdy stand for its purpose but because it is three legged it is not all that stable when you are putting your laptop on the stand or hooking up cables. In fact, if you put too much pressure on the power button it can tilt over. But once it is set on the stand I've never had a problem and it works great. While it is small and holds my MacBook the support leg does extend back behind the MacBook so you could need up to 7 inches of room behind it.It folds up to a very portable size and includes a bag for storage.Overall this is a great stand to help keep the air circulating under the MacBook and is adjustable to any height I need.
