Perfect Package overall for smooth android user experience (gaming excluded)
very good package overallit checks all the essential check boxes for the pricesnapdragon 632 with kryo 250 cores takes care of performance very well. this was the only deciding factor when choosing between realme c1 2019 (A53 cores) and redmi 7.cameras both front and back are satisfactory for the price.i bought it for my dad, so 2GB ram was sufficient for call and media only usage. gamers will need to opt for 3GB version imo. even though 2GB version might work as well for PUBG etc. but i haven't tried it since m not using thia phone.my experience with snapdragon chipsets are been great since 2011 when i bought my first android phone xperia arc. Qualcomm have been very good in producing quality chipsets and in keeping performance constant over long period of time in endurance. in which mediatek chipsets failed badly with 2 phones that i bought for my dad before redmi 7, i.e. micromax canvas spark and motorola e3 power. in comparison moto e 1st gen and moto g3 are same on cpu core level but performance was extremely good even after using for long time of approx 2 years and ultimately i exchanged them for new phones. hence avoided realme 3 and realme c2. these two looks great on specs sheet but now i hav trust issues with mediatek considering endurance performance consistency.if u really want to asses the cpu performance of devices, try updating many apps. and check how quickly they finish getting installed after downloading is finished.the only disappointing thing in the box was the provided caseits good that xiaomi is bundling the case with box but it's not functional imo. there are no lips to protect screen glass when u place mobile face down on a flat surface. its even worse when u apply tempered glass on screen, in this case basically u r resting phone on tempered glass itself. i wish xiaomi could hav given more attention to details for such minor things which contributes to product's main function.other things that you should be knowing is wifi ac and 5ghz band not supported by this chipset but not a deal breaker. also no gyro sensor if u r more into VR and 360 degree videos/photosyou should be very careful when accepting terms and conditions and allowing app permissions. else u ll b flooded with lots of ads through apps. i would like to advice you to take some time, explore each and every settings check box when setting up phone at the beginning.about first flash sale by amazon, it was a little disappointmentno launch offersno bank card discountno option to exchange old phonenothinghad to buy it at full price.my opinion regarding 8999 priced 3gb version is that u better add 1k and go for note 7 base version instead, its far far betteru get full hd screen, usb c, fast charging (charger no included in box), better chipset, gyro sensor, better front camera, wifi ac and 5ghz band etc. and u loses out on dedicated sd card slot which is present in redmi 7.

Good phone for the price of 6k
I bought this phone on festive sale and for the it offers some good spec's1) Good battery2) Good screen3) AI camera works well considering the price. Gives some very good detail shots in day light outdoors and indoors it is not that bad.4) For casual gaming its ok.However its not ment for highend games.I tested it on marvel contest of champions and the screen freezes in-between of fight.5) Speaker sound could have been better.6) dedicated memory card slot for memory expansion 👍.To sum up its a great phone for an average user who uses the phone to listen music, YouTube, watching movies and playing casual games. Also, the camera is not that bad at all..I purchased it as a secondary phone. And it turned out to be a pretty good deal.

Good Phone. Value for money.
Bought this phone a month ago. My review for this phone (though I'm not very Gadget savvy - this is only the second phone I've owned in the last 10 years!)Pro's -- good battery life - lasts me upto 2 days - with moderate usage of calls/msgs/whatsapp, videos, browsing, wi-fi/ sim data connected, NO games(!)- display is good, though not HD- camera is excellent in the day (though as others have pointed out - under low light conditions it isn't great). Video quality is very decent.- the sound quality is very good- it has a great reading mode - the display takes on a warm glow and is thus not at all a strain on the eyes- the mi app store is very good and unlike google app store doesn't require one to have an account (better privacy?)- the phone appears quite sturdy (though haven't yet dropped it from any great height!)Con's-- the screen gets very smudgy with finger prints (especially in hot muggy conditions - which is to say under normal Indian conditions!)- too many bloatware apps (like Mi apps - which take some time to uninstall)- many Mi apps come with quite annoying and intrusive ads (again takes time to disable - need to search for solutions on the web - which thankfully is available)- display brightness settings are not very user friendly- most apps come with default settings that share all your details (like contacts, messages, call details etc., - again a privacy nightmare. Don't know why apps like calculator etc., need access to my contact list? This is a problem with Google play store and most apps in it too. Takes time and effort to go to each setting/app and disabling unwanted access - shouldn't default access be in the off position?)

Stunning camera
Neately delivered after a week long waiting. But ejector pin missing. I have to update UI and all the apps for the first time using. Camera quality awesome. But sound quality is not convincing. . Finger print scanner is very fast. But face unlock is slow.Sometimes it is lagging. Consider vivo phone before buying redmi, because in the same price range vivo phone is performing better in all the features, except camera.
