How to Keep Fleas and Ticks at Bay !! ALSO GREAT AGAINST MOTHS
We LOVE this product. Just wish it was easier to get. Our order was inexplicably cancels the first two times we tried to get it this year, making us wait. When it finally arrived, ut is just as expected though. We use this every Spring in outdoor pet feeding and shelter areas to keep fleas and ticks away from the feral colony we care for. The cut of these isn’t like other cedar products you might find, which are better used for pet bedding. Cedarcide granules are just that, very small balls of wood, curls that are probably ground from logs with some sort of cheese grater-like blade, so they’re dense and weighty. This product does well underfoot due to the weight, to doesn’t blow away, though we also use it for the base layer and then cover it with pine tags or “pine straw.” These two together in a relatively sheltered area are soft and comfortable underfoot, and work well as warm weather bedding that wards off ticks and fleas. You can also use any time of year to fill sachets to keep moths away from your wool, cashmere, silk.. all natural fibers. If used that way the same company also makes sprays containing essential oils of cedar that you can use to recharge your granules, year after year.. just remove the cedar granules from your drawstring bags, spread it out on smoothing non absorbant, like a large plastic trash bag and spray it well, let dry, reposition and spray again. Any extra dampness could be poured away, but it usually is all absorbed. Then you can make a paper or cardstock funnel to refill your bags with granules. Cedarcide is a GREAT all natural and non toxic way to keep these pests away!

Will purchase again
I’m liking this stuff! Easy to apply. Great smell and seems to be deterring pests. Will continue to use.

Keeps Gnats out of my Eyeballs.
This stuff works!! At the beginning of Spring, I would be covered in gnats just trying to water the lawn. The first day after treating the grass and garden beds, there was a significant improvement, and after a week the lawn was gnat free. I’m curious to see how long we can keep the bugs at bay. I prefer this method over dousing myself in bug spray!

Neat concept but possibly old? The cedar smell is virtually nonexistent.
The cedar smell is barely present and I think it’s too expensive.I can spread some in smaller areas in a thin application based on bag contents. I don’t see how it can cover the area it advertised and still be effective.I’m saving about a third of the bag, and plan to add a bit more cedar oil to them and make room/closet sachet bags with what remains. So that will be interesting.I also added a light layer to soil tops in my indoor potted plants and that seems to be reducing (possibly eliminating) the little flying gnats (?) that were previously present. So that is good.

It doesn’t deter anything in my opinion
I got this to disperse around my house for ants and other bugs naturally. Doesn’t do anything. It is safe around pets as far as I can tell. I still see the chips so they have lasted quite a bit and if you love natural wood smell this is exactly what it smells like. The chips are super small

Hate mosquitoes order this
I order this last season and it works wonderfully for mosquitoes. I have always hated to go outside when mosquitoes are out because they love me and would bite me like crazy. Once applied I could go outside and enjoy it without the mosquitoes biting me. I also love my fur babies and I like that they are protected as well.i will be ordering again this season. Well worth the money and I highly recommend.

helping after 1 month of use
This is helping with the fleas. Jury is still out with regard to mosquitoes. We're one month in, with weekly applications of both granules and the outdoor spray. Central Florida seems rife with all kinds of biting insects, so happy to find something non toxic for pets. Also using the original spray for carpets, fabrics indoors and applying a light coat on kitties before they venture out in the yard. Not sure it's all that healthy for the cats, but seems a better alternative than toxic flea medications.
