Current USA Satellite Freshwater LED Plus Light for Aquarium, 36 to 48-Inch

This is my first LED light set for an aquarium. What, a difference! LEDs make fish and plants look awesome and the affects such as cloud cover, lightning storms and several different colors are awesome! I bought a ramp timer with this set so they gradually dim off and gradually get brighter in the morning so the instant on/off of the lights don't freak out the fish. This LED light set is a must. I'll only have LEDs for aquariums from now on.I bought this LED light bar in January 2015 and today, December 2, 2018, it started freaking out. Flashing. Its dead after 3 years 11 months. Has anyone else had this light longer? I liked the light bar with its effects and variety of colors. Feel like an LED light bar should last way longer. Not sure if I should invest in another LED bar with another brand. What is the warranty on this light?Dec 4th... I took a look at the LED bar and thought there was no way for something to be wrong with the LEDs because the thing is well built. Thought it might have been the ac/dc adapter so I took a picture of the light bar, adapter and ramp timer together to send to Current USA Customer Service with hope to diagnose what it could be and maybe just have to purchase another ac/dc adapter. With everything plugged in to include the ramp timer, the lights and ramp timer flashed every 10 seconds or so. Unplugged only the light bar from the ramp timer and the ramp timer display would be fine. Took out the ramp timer and plugged the lights directly into the power cord and for some reason, the lights did not flash like they did the other night. They worked fine! Plugged in the ramp timer between the power supply and lights and BAM! everything was fine. Weird but I am so relieved because this Current USA LED bar is fricken awesome and now I dont have to spend more money to buy another one. I'm definitely giving this product all five stars! Well worth it and whatever was wrong with mine, not only was it corrected (maybe by unplugging it for a while and it reset), but I am confident it couldn't have been the expensive LED bar because as I mentioned before, this product is well made! The Current USA Satellite Freshwater LED Plus Light for Aquarium, 36 to 48-Inch has proven to be useful for my planted tank. The color options are great as you can choose your own custom colors. I decided to write this review now that it had been used for fourteen months everyday for about 10 hours, alothough i'd like to not keep it on for that long but i forget. So a bulit in timer would be great but it doesnt have one. when i do a water change I take it off carefully and leave it on my couch while doing a water change, but it does get moved every week, With all of this in mined I have noticed 6 LED bulbs are not working anymore but cannot tell unless looking directly at the bulbs while lit.So for the remote control, I read the reviews upon getting this and after having it for the first like 9 months I couldbt understand what everyone was talking about until then.well the dimming button doesnt work which sucks because I dont like it super bright and I cant turn off the white lights when customizing the colors, I have to purchase a new one alothough i should try to contact the company first, I let you know how it goes and whether they will give me a new one.So I contacted the company and upon realizing I was passed my one year warranty I was uncertain about them sending me a new one, anyway to make a long story short, they're in fact sending me a replacement remote even though my warranty expired. They got back to me very quick as well so I'm upping from 4 stars to give because of the willingness to help out their customers.

Purchased this light fixture for my 40B when the previous T5NO el cheapo I was using became discontinued and could no longer purchase replacement bulbs. So far I am pretty satisfied with it. Previously my fixture was somewhat bulky and I also had some dioder lights for night mode on top of my tank as well so it was looking cluttered! While this light doesn't seem as bright for my tank as the T5s were, it still looks quite nice and the built in night lighting options are a plus. It also has a pretty sleek and unobtrusive look to it, I think, at least compared to what I had been using.Would recommend to anyone who has a 40B (36"x18"x16"?) or any other wide tanks like 75 and so forth to purchase two or maybe even three of these for front and back if full and evenly spread lighting is a must have for you or if you have fully planted tanks and the like as this just doesn't have the strength to light the whole thing up evenly on a wide tank. I personally enjoy the shadowing effect it has depending on if I place the fixture to the front or the back of the tank though the light does seem brighter if I remove my glass hood (even if it's freshly cleaned) so open top could be an option for more brightness from this light.One more thing to note is I did/do seem to be having a brown diatom? problem again since putting this on my tank. Not out of control or at all horrible, but haven't had any for a long while before I upgraded to this fixture. Easily wiped out during my weekly WC but something to keep in mind when purchasing that it's possibly related.

LEDs started failing after 6 months and completely failed after a year.
