Understanding Common Core State Standards (Professional Development) 1st Edition

I was expecting this book to have the common core standards included in them and was disappointed to find that it just talks about the standards.

I like the book and feel a little more prepared for helping my staff purpose for this common core. However I would like to see a more detailed version based on each subject area that goes more in-depth into how to do/conduct a "crosswalk" activity.

Brief and precise explanation of common core. Just the right amount of information without being overwhelming. Easy read and uncomplicated.

I bought 2 books on the subject, this is the clearest and has most concise explanations. May not cover the opposition view, but not what it was meant to do. If everyone could read it some of the protest may go away.

Sort of a nice little book addressing the common core, but for $10+, you should save yourself the money. There are plenty of free online resources that can tell you the same thing.

Well written and quick read. It's a good introduction to the Common Core. It is very basic though, so if you're using the Common Core you'll need more after this.

Explains why Common Core was developed and provides the reader with information needed to get an idea of what it is all about,
