Teaching as an art form
This book by Robert Marzano is a balanced combination of research and practical strategies for improving all aspects of classroom management and curriculum delivery. Ideally, all staff members would use the strategies, developing a common language for sharing their experiences. All teaching staff should have a copy of the book - use it as their guide to teaching.

Full of information
This book is being used as the basis for restructuring at the school district where I just completed my student teaching. Even though I won't likely be working in that particular district I very much liked what I was hearing, and for sure the book is jam-packed with great ideas -- so I bought it for my own personal use. Most of it is, truly, common sense, but it is good to have it in this book because it is written out and well organized. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be even more excellent in their teaching.

One of the Best Ever
This book is a bible. It has loads of valuable information which is broken down into digestible chunks. One of the best books ever for teachers. Read, practice, read again and so on. Every time you open it, you will find another interesting bit.

good for well behaved students
Assumes there are no special needs kids or major behavioural issues in the class. Like the success criteria ideas but better for older kids as scoring is harder for under 8s. An important read though as this stuff is taking off in most education systems around the world. Doesn't address content or knowledge, more about pedagogy.

Awesome!
Simple and applicable strategies for more effective teaching. I appreciate the meta-analysis research that supports each strategy. The best way to gauge student understanding is throughout the lesson, not after. The rubrics provide a great way to conduct quick check for understandings that also hold students accountable for their own learning

Great Book
This is a great book with a lot of good information. I think the author does a good job talking about effective teaching. Of course a lot of the mentioned research is based off of studies of his own materials, but it is still useful information.

Made me reflect
I was recommended this book by a colleague who found the lesson activity examples at the back incredibly valuable. However, on reaching the end there were no activities! Nonetheless, a great book that has made me reflect on my practice.

Marzano
If you are planning to get this book chances are you are either studying education or teaching. In either case, marzano is important and this will become a basis for yiur theories and pholoshies on teaching. Whether you agree with or not.
