Works great - used a replacement laces for my Merril Chameleons that the dog ate - yes the dog ate my shoes - well shoe laces. Easy to install, cut and finish - They are thicker and more substantial than the originals - I don't think they could standup to te jaws of a staffordshire terrier but they are significant in size

Everythong you want and even more.
I have owned several pairs of elastic laces -- these are the best. They will fit any shoe size or type (eg. high tops). The clip lock for the tips of the laces makes it possible to cut the long laces to the length you need -- they also hold the tips together in the middle of the shoe. You do not tie and untie these laces. You simply slip on the shoe and it fits snuggly enough; but, not too snug. With these laces, the shoe truly conforms to your foot. Imagine what you want out of a pair of shoe laces; these laces will give you whatever that is.

Easy and comfortable replacement for standard laces
My favorite pair of SAS shoes came with laces that seem to come untied constantly. Since I suffer from fibromyalgia and frequent muscle cramps, bending down to tie my shoes is not a pleasant experience on the best of days. I purchased these laces in the hope that they'd be much easier to work with than standard laces and would remain "tied". They haven't disappointed. To install them, you remove your existing laces. Then, you feed these elastic ones through the eyelets in your shoe as you would your original laces. Leave about 3 inches of lace hanging from the top eyelets and cut off the rest. Feed the locking mechanism through both laces. Clip the tab over the loose ends of the two laces to connect them together and you're done.To "tie" your shoes, pull on the laces until they're comfortably snug. Then press the button on top of the locking mechanism and pull it down toward your foot until it's tight enough for you and let go. Your shoes are now tied. This takes less time to actually do than it probably took you to read this.To "untie" the shoes, press the release button on the locking mechanism and lift it away from your foot to loosen the laces. Again, this takes about a second.I've been very pleased and impressed with how quickly and easily these work for me. They stay "tied" as long as you want them to, and even make the shoes a bit more comfortable than they were before.Although I've had no problems with them, I do have a little concern that the locking mechanism may wear out the laces eventually, or that the end tab (which only holds the laces in with little plastic pins and friction) might someday come loose. On the other hand, by the time that happens I'll probably be ready for a new pair of shoes.I can imagine that if I was an athlete, a jogger, or runner, I'd find this type of laces fantastic. I'd never have to worry about them coming untied and I wouldn't have to waste a lot of time tying and untying them. If you have an athletic friend this would be a good and inexpensive gift.

not a gimmick
I've been a lifelong runner who has had periodic shoelace problems over the years at the most inopportune times. It didn't seem to matter if I dble-knotted them prior to a race or training run or got them wet for more holding power, they sometimes still would loosen up on me. It also didn't matter if they were the round type or the swirl pattern. It would still happen. I decided what the heck and bought a couple of pair of Lock Laces. They're great and I like the adjustable stretch feature where they could be tight in certain parts of my upper foot and loose in other parts for comfort level. I think I'll stick with these from now on. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

worth the price, but not impressed
I bought these for my kids, they are 4 y/o and at school they require laces this type or Velcro where the teachers dont have to be worried about kid's shoes. The laces are very easy to assemble, but one month into using them and the lace cover broke.

Might seem a little fancy, but it works well.
I'd say one of the main thing about these type of shoe laces is that it's stretchy. I understand that some shoes do come with stretchy shoe laces, then it's probably unnecessary for you to purchase this. But if you have shoes that come with typical 'rigid' shoe laces, then this might be a good solution for to give your pair of shoes more allowance to expand and contract.

missing vital component
the round clip was missing a component. i only ordered one pair to try the laces out before buying for my entire family. I requested a replacement but have not received a response from Nathan.

Problem solved!
For years, I've had a constant problem with my shoelaces being loosened by the way I walk due to disability and AFO braces. I couldn't find any type of laces that stayed tight enough. Last night, I put a pair of these on my everyday shoes. Problem solved!

Buy them
Still works well for shoes that are on and off all the time.

Finally a gadget that works
I had no real expectations from this product but have so far been pleasantly surprised by them. They were easy to 'install' and operate and have worked very well. I bought them for a few reasons, the main being traditional laces always seem to untie themselves for me no matter what I do. These Lock Laces solve that issue and make removing my trainers after a hard day easier than ever.
