Great server for homelab
I got a few things to say about this thing. I was a worried about purchasing this rack because i was worried it would not fit my full sized Dell R740xd server. First and foremost the build quality of my unit was immaculate. everything fit as it should and had picture perfect tolerances. Lots of hardware is included, like rack bolts and nuts and a ton of spares if you drop something. It all comes in this great plastic tackle box so everything is clearly findable. +1 to sysracks for that tackle box, what a great choice! assembly took some time. the assembly document was usable. Not the best, and not the worst I have used. but it was clear enough to figure out and get the assembly done with. For my assembly i left 2 spaces in the front two nut holes and the back two nut holes from the front to mount my rack rails. I would recommend you do the same if you buy this system so you have room for your equipment between the front glass and the rear door. my R740 just barley fit. I used the dell ready rails system and it all closes up nicely i would recommend some 90 degree power plugs if you can get them for the equipment side so you can get more door clearance. Mine fit, but i have to have the front of my server ever so slightly out to make room for the plugs out the buck. everything else that's not a full sized fat server fit great! lots of room in the rack to work, there is enough room between the panels and the rack to put sound isolating foam too! TLDR: - if you work in IT you won't have any problems deploying this and using it. You will like the build quality. although there may be a little maneuvering required. -If you don't work in IT it may take a bit to put it together and there will be some lessons learned but it's a great product for it's price poing.

Durable Functional Quality Cabinet
Well built, heavy but solid, attractive for residential use. The 4 cooling fans in the top are very loud at 58db and air flow is a little below average at 65 CFM total. I pulled the fans and replaced with Cooler Guys 120mm fans which run at 22db and move 45 CFM per fan x 4 fans = 180 CFM. At $9 per fan, cheap upgrade for noise quiet. I also added 4 temperature controlled fans in the cabinet bottom to push air up to the top exhaust fans. Running 4 Synology rack servers with individual UPS for each and cabinet interior stays at 81F temperature in my study which stays at 76F environment. Took me 3 hours to assemble the cabinet. Other than the fans, this is an excellent rack-mount cabinet and I highly recommend it.

Basic entry product
Nice looking but not super sturdy. Will work for now. Fairly easy to put together. Not worth the price.

Assembly Instructions are ROUGH, but the End Product is a BIG WOW!!
As mentioned by others before us, the assembly instructions were not useful. Do not ignore this point! The instructions are only a mediocre guide; they are far from what anyone would reasonably call good assembly instructions. If you've had experience assembling racks like we have you will still have trouble. Prior experience shouldn't be a requirement. It's only an important factor because of the deficiencies in the instructions. On the plus side, the unit comes with extra parts, such as spare bolts; however, spares were not supplied for all bolts and washers needed to assemble the rack. Some parts are not shown or even described in the instructions. This left a lot to our imaginations and honestly we still don't know what some of the parts are for. Hahaha! We found a YouTube video that demonstrated the same model of rack but a different size, but the video didn't help that much. Ideally, this is a two-person job. You can get away with one person trying to do it all alone, but it will lead to cursing and swearing. VENTILATION: There are four top-mounted temperature-controlled cooling fans with a digital control panel one is on the front of the rack, just above the door. Yes, the fans can get loud. Yes, it’s not a bad idea to consider using quieter fans, but we didn’t. We wanted to fully experience the fans that were included before making further upgrades and so far the find noise is noticeable, but not overwhelming. This cabinet is in an office environment and none of us find the fan noise, distracting or problematic while on phone or video calls. We didn’t want the cabinet fans exhausting the heat into the office environment, so we installed ductwork above the hanging ceiling tiles and an AC Infinity fan to push heat out exterior building vents. OVERALL: As far as stability of the final product and quality of materials, this rack is top notch and well worth the price. We recommend this rack for people/companies familiar with racks, period. We caution everyone else to strongly consider the additional amount of time YOU WILL SPEND interpreting upside-down pictures in the meager instruction booklet and navigating "trial and error" paths before determining the way parts "should be" assembled. If you or your team is impatient, under a time constraint -- or you have a history of abandoning Ikea furniture projects -- find another rack! Good luck and Godspeed! Justification for our 5-star review: Despite the shortcomings, this rack is fantastic for the price. Its quality and workmanship make up for its inadequacies.

Great product!
Very nice and well constructed piece. Was slightly damaged but it was due to shipping so nothing to say bad about the unit or company what so ever.

Worth the money
This thing came shipped like it was fragile beyond belief. Never have I had solid metal shipped to me better packed the anything in my life. It arrived in perfect condition and ready to be built. Expect this to come in multiple separated packages for assembly. Instructions were a little unclear at first since the manual is an all in one for 18U-42U but after 2-3 passovers I built this thing in about 1.5hrs by myself. Power tools are not necessary but definitely speed up the process. Lots of extra screws so you can't miss out if you break or strip one. Came with a plenty of rack mount screws as well for my servers. 4 fans for cooling and a built in temp unit are a large +. Overall its a sturdy and great product for the price. If I ever need one again I will definitely be looking at this. It was also just fun to assemble.

When I ordered the rack I was very frustrated with fedex, it was three days and they still haven't picked up the package. Then to my surprise Sysrack themselves delivered it to my door. As far as the rack itself, the instructions are very clear, all the skrews are numbered in a nice storage tin. Took about an hour to assemble and its a very sturdy rack. Very very impressed.

I do not recommend this for a server with a depth of 750mm or more (Dell R710 is what I have) (Rack depth is 800 mm) A few issues with it, as others said, instructions are poor, and some steps are not even there (watch the video, it helps more then the paper) The back door on my unit does not close all the way, or lock. First on why it does not close all the way. I bought a set of Dell Ready Rails, and they are longer than the Rack, by about 2”. Second reason is, the locking “hook” goes beyond the slot for it, so it gets wedged in were it shouldn’t, and if you force it, it makes the door stick so you cannot open it. I should have just got the 1000mm Rack depth of this unit. I though I did enough research, but I did not. I do like the rack, the lock on the back door not lining up is disappointing for the money paid, if it were easier to tear down and send back, I probably would, then buy the bigger unit.

very nice looking and sturdy server system rack! recommend to use power tools to install all screws and it will save you hours make your life a lot easier. recommend to have 4mm drill and m5 tap on hand so you can modify the holes easily without hand taping using supplied self tap m5 screws. it will save your life lol. leave main frame screws loose to fit the side panels first then it will be a lot nicer fit at the end with all gaps perfectly fit. I used the shipping protection angled cardboard made a shelf for router and modem to sit on while keeping the top airflow clear. very nice overall experience and design! definitely worth the $$$. this is so far the best server rack case system i came across. I made a filter from regular furnace filter and fitted with spacer foams from the shipping package on the bottom. really don’t need the sleeves and once it is filled with systems you won’t even see it. great for dust prevention.
