I dont have good lighting around my vanity, this would be about my only source of light. Will this be bright enough for me to see when applying makeup

Sadly, I found the light to be very dim, even on the highest setting. I need a lamp next to the mirror in order to see well enough to apply make-up. It might work if you have a naturally bright room, but I find I rarely use this make-up mirror because of the lack of adequate light.

Does it have a plug outlet in the back as one reviewer stated?

I have the burnished copper model but it looks identical except for the color and yes, there is a plug/outlet on the back of the circular base. I have the mirror plugged in and a small fan plugged into the back of my mirror so I still have a wall outlet available for my hairdryer/straightening iron.
