Before we purchased these treads, our stairs did not feel stable with the edging we had. The treads seem to reinforce the steps and make them more comfortable. They stay in place well and the quality is great!

BOTTOM LINE: If you're expecting sticky like tape, forget it. However, they DO stay in place and not budge when you walk on them or even try to manually push them AFTER settling on the stairs overnight. PLEASE READ ON ... I looked at many other similar products, and decided on this one. When I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was that the carpet was a tight weave, with almost no cushioning or even slight plushness, which wasn't a dealbreaker - but I thought the carpeting would be more comfortable. Nevertheless, installing them is as easy as anything can possibly be. BUT, when I laid them down, they would not lay flat, and it seemed that there was no adhesion at all! Now I was getting irritated. I decided to let them sit overnight and see if they were better in the morning; they were. Your stairs need to be very clean and finished wood (smooth) or some other surface that can provide an opportunity for adherence. If you want a lot of softness in the carpeting, look elsewhere - but for their function, I do recommend a tight weave. I just wish there was some padding. Whether or not you can wash them if you take them up and expect them to be like they were when you purchased them, I don't know yet. Still, a simple, cost-effective option instead of a carpeting your stairs (as long as you like the look)

These mats do not stick on any surface. Not worth it at all.

I bought these to replace other ones that had gotten too dirty to clean good. These do not stick to the steps like the last ones we bought. Peeling the backing off was almost impossible without tearing. Had to use carpet tape to get them to adhere to the steps. If I had not already had to pull one of the old ones off the step to try these I would have returned them.

Good quality, attractive and clean well. You used on our steps away from the garage to our laundry room which are I would. The adhesive did not adhere well to the steps. A few small cocktails up resolve that problem. Really like that they are contoured to fit over bullnose on step:)

The media could not be loaded. They don’t work. The backs are NOT sticky. Peeled right up on its own. Not cool.
