Quik bounce its a must have!
First I have to mention that I already own the LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer and always complained about not being able to use for portrait pictures! But the guys at Lumiquest fixed this thing by redesigning the pocket bouncers to attach it to the side of the flash head so you can swivel it just like you would do it normally to take a portrait picture and still works the same way.Gives you the chance to have a regular pocket bouncer to diffuse 100% of the light to the front or in case you have low ceilings where to bounce the light, then you just open the doors to take just 20% of the light towards the subject as a fill flash and the rest will just naturally bounce to ceiling for natural looks. The only complain about it is that the supplied Velcro isn't heavy duty and it might not get enough grip, but they provide you an extra Velcro strap so you attach it in the outside of the pads for some extra security, even though i would strongly suggest you to buy the LumiQuest Cinch Strap because then you will feel really that it wont just fall off. My Cinch Strap is over 2 years old and still works like the first day, so looks like a great investment.Get the LumiQuest Cinch Strap and secure your bouncerhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009R8DD?ie=UTF8&tag=isaaloblo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00009R8DDPros:- Great design, those doors are just great!- Softens the light to get better results even on macro pictures- Lightweight so you wont feel you are carrying extra gear in your bag or when its attached to the flash- Folds flat like the other Lumiquest pocket bouncers so you can even put it in your pants pocketsCons:- Construction not as good as the old Pocket Bouncer, a bit thinner- Supplied Velcro isn't heavy duty so you might want to get something that will give you better grip- Rather expensive for what it is, I mean its a great tool but a bit overpricedIn conclusion this is something serious shooters would consider over any "sto-fen like" diffuser, even the included with my Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras wont give me this type of results. If you are getting paid to take pictures I really believe this is for you.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001X4BAB0?ie=UTF8&tag=isaaloblo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001X4BAB0

Basically feels like thin cardboard coated with plastic that is sure to ...
Way Overpriced for What you Get..........Got the box today and I opened it....And i was saying to myself ...this cost how much?? I paid how much for this?I opened my Amazon account right away when i got home to check.what i paid..Basically feels like thin cardboard coated with plastic that is sure to crack at the hinges with any serious use or in a year ..with velcro I'd say maybe $3-5 to manufacture ..But that takes into account it's made in the USA - if it were China....maybe less.Maybe they have to charge a lot because it's a specialty item...So yeah, I can't say it looks any different than the picture but when you hold it in your hand and think you just spent $43 for it...I can see that yes you can flip it for a vertical shot but also that will require ripping off that all that velcro and quickly refastening it...because for events you have to move fast....events/weddings etc....This will quickly put stress on all the plastic hinges/seams...but all in all guess there's no easy way to make a more durable one of these that would fit every flash..it is what it is...

Perfect for events or anywhere you need to control light.
This has been one of the most useful items i've found for my photography. I use this at event, conventions and even when in a controlled setting where you may just want that extra bit of fill light. I would have given this a 5 star if it came with the quick strap. I don't think anyone really likes the idea of sticking velcro tabs on their flash units so the strap should just be included.I also highly recommend the quick strap for that reason.Otherwise, it works as advertised and since this mounts to your flash head sideways it allows you to flip when taking a vertical positioned shot. When in vertical though it will be slightly off to the side, if you can have the subject face slightly in that direction and boom flattering shot that took you no time to setup. One final interesting thing i've learned to do with this, but would work for any bouncer's is to keep it attached and throw it on a tripod for a very simple portable setup.

Good concept but the execution can be done by other means.
It's alright as a flash diffuser... there are holes in the design that allow light to escape so you're not getting 100% of the flash's light. If you have a cheaper plastic diffuser, it might do just as well than this setup. It does the job but the setup and the adjustments necessary are just time consuming. With a plastic diffuser, you just clip it on to the end of the light and shoot away - or you could just bounce light off a white ceiling and it'll just do just as well.

Indistinguishable results from flash diffuser
The results of using this are almost completely indistinguishable from using a standard flash diffuser. With the flash diffuser I do not have to leave the velcro on the flash and can easily take it on and off. I have removed the velcro from my Canon 580 flash and just use the diffuser now, so this is just sitting in the closet collecting dust. In short, it works to help diffuse the light, but so do other less cumbersome alternatives.

Big Bounce
The Lumiquest LQ-122 Quik Bounce 122 does as advertised. It's mounted on the flash-head sideways so the if shooting in portrait you are able to keep the light directed at your subject. This is the selling point for me. Switching between portrait and landscape modes is a breeze.Opening the doors on the unit allows a large percentage of light to pass through and bounce off the ceiling or walls when available.

Works well
Not as well made as older LumiQuest bounce units I have owned, but I like the ability to flip between horizontal and vertical orientation. Works well with my Olympus M$/3 camera and flash.

Not like the Promax
I own the Promax version of this as well. Although the Quick Bounce works ok, it is not as sturdy as the Promax. It feels cheep and parts of it are peeling after only one days use.

Lumiquest LQ-122
