Good if you want a thick Rock sound.
I bought this drum head for a 13" pork pie acrylic snare. i originally had a remo white coated ambassador on this snare for playing out live. I usually prefer the white remo coated snare head on my snare drums because they really crack and are very lively which is great for ghost notes. The Pork Pie sounded good for live gigs with that remo head. Unfortunately, it did not sound so good when I would try to record with it in my home studio. It had way to much over ring, and way to mush snare buzz. So I decided to go to the opposite side of the spectrum and get this aquarian head. I was already familiar with aquarian heads because I use them on my kick drum and it sounds great. This head gave my snare a much more thicker, but controlled sound. Good for rock. I took the remo coated head that was on top and put it on the bottom, because it was thicker then the bottom head that was on there. Now my snare has really cool thick sound with a strong attack, a more controlled ring, and much less snare vibration. i would now say my snare sounds like Danny Carey's from Tool.

Nice snare head
Was using a remo pinstripe forever and wanted something different. I got Aquarian's for the rest of my kit so I went with this for the snare. Sounds great! Just a tad more ring than the pinstripe which surprised me. I thought with the dot and the control ring it would be more dead. But it's perfect and is holding up well. White dot doesn't get very dirty at all. Recommended!

Aquarian High-Energy Snare Drum Head
A nice heavier head for rock and louder music that has good projection quality. Also, have found that it records pretty well when cranked-up with a lower- budget snare, namely, the Ludwig Acrolite snare drum. I used hot rods and the back-beat came out nice and fat. I don't know about lighter things like brush-work, etc., but in the above applications, a good head.

Great For My Snare!!!
I put this on my Mapex Black Panther Matt Halpern Signature Wraith Snare Drum, and it sounds AWESOME!!!Gives my snare the pop but still articulate as I need.

Best Overall
This is the only snare drum head I use. Holds up extremely well to hard hits. Very sensitive. I have mine cranked to the max without any worries of breaking. Go ahead and get yourself one. You'll be happy.

My favorite drummer has this head on his snare and my big brother has this head on his. He encouraged me to get this head and I'm glad I listened because this head has a great beautiful sound and this is definitely a strong head

Very pleased and will recommend with absolution
Having created my own custom 14X14 snare drum, I was less than impressed with the sound dynamics ... Until installing this drum head... The effort I put forth was brought to fruition with this batter head, along with the Classic clear snare side head... Very pleased and will recommend with absolution.
