Really nice for the price, very surprised.
I'm pretty impressed really. I had very tempered expectations given the price point; I was expecting something barely functional. When the item arrived, it was surprisingly lightweight, which concerned me. But, it was attractive enough (that is to say, it's not unattractive; it is not at all fancy), and the cedar inside was decent, if not as aromatic as better grade humidors. The hinge mechanism looks fine, and the internal construction looks well done. So I began seasoning it, quite surprised that it seems so decent given the price. In actuality, I have to say I'm thrilled. Checking out some of the 1-star reviews, I see a lot of "lid seal is poor". Perhaps time will tell, but if anything, I'm actually having some difficulty opening and closing the box since the lid seal is so ridiculously good! The seasoning process reveals that this is not my imagination either--after seasoning the cedar inside with a distilled water rubdown, which I had to do perhaps 4 times (out of the box, this thing comes to you dry as heck--bone dry), I immediately noticed that the now moistened wood makes a *very* tight seal against the lid (wasn't much of a seal until the wood was seasoned---as designed). During seasoning, I've been able to bring the interior to 92-95% humidity and have it hold there easily on a day with ambient humidity around 40%, according to my digital hygrometer, and frankly, that would be totally impossible if there was even the slightest leak. Once the seasoning process is done, we'll bring this guy back to 72%'ish humidity with a Boveda pack, and load it up with cigars. I have absolutely not one shred of doubt that this humidor is going to work great, and easily maintain the appropriate humidity and seal.Fun surprise: Normally, I'd just recommend throwing the cheap hygrometer they give you with these kinds of things right in the garbage can. Out of curiosity though in the name of science, I put the included hygrometer in the case with my digital one as well. Would you believe, they are in complete agreement at room humidity, at cigar humidity, and then also at seasoning humidity; the included hygrometer is only a couple percent off from the digital one. That was a surprise. Your mileage may vary, I can't imagine this thing would have consistent quality, and your included hygrometer might stink. At this price point, I can't imagine how anyone could complain about this humidor. This is really the perfect beginner's or spare humidor. It really exceeded my expectations substantially. But, as with anything, you do have to know what you're doing, and you will for certain want to deeply season the wood in here for a couple days before you even think about putting cigars in it.As I've not yet put this into full service, in the (in my view) very unlikely event that future performance disappoints me, I will edit this review below. If you see no additional edits, then consider me thrilled.

A Nice, Low Priced Humidor
Received my humidor yesterday and am going through the seasoning process now. First impressions are very positive. The box itself is Spanish cedar. I determined this by making several comparisons between this and several other humidors. I also ordered a Boveda packet holder for this. They are made of Spanish cedar also and the wood matches with no doubt. The divider may be a different species, the one I received looks a lot different than the rest of the box. It is probably not Spanish cedar. The finish is nice, it's not a high quality piano finish but this is a humidor, not furniture. The box itself is made from cedar with just a thin veneer for the outside. It looks nice. It doesn't scream humidor so if you're looking for something as a conversation piece this wouldn't be for you. On the other hand if you're looking for something that doesn't announce "This guys smokes cigars!" this would do nicely. The lid fits tight and seals well. The included hygrometer is dead on. I verified it with a Boveda calibration kit and two hygrometers I know to be accurate. I should also note that a friend of mine ordered this exact same humidor a few days before I did and his tested well also. One issue I noticed though is if you plan on using the included Velcro tape to mount this, it will cover the calibration screw. Calibrate before you mount the adhesive and if you ever need to adjust calibration at a future time you will need to remove the Velcro and replace it. For my planned usage I don't really need the hygrometer, I am going to use Boveda packs so once I confirm it is seasoned and holding a constant humidity I won't really need it.The included humidifier seems like it may not be enough to keep the proper humidity but I'm not concerned about it. As I said I plan on using Boveda packs in this so don't need it.All in all this seems to be a very nice beginner humidor. I bought this for a deployment to Afghanistan and I think it will do very well for what I need it for and for the low price.

Good value for the money.
Updated: I've owned this humidor for about a year now, and I can say that I'm pleased. It's a great entry-level purchase, if you are willing to be patient.Be aware that they are very dry... I would estimate it took about 60 to 90 days to fully season it. I started with two 84% Bov packs, and then some cigars and two 69% Bov packs. The lid started scraping after about 45 days, steadily increasing until it held a steady ~69% RH. It still fluctuates on temp, so I've seen it run between 65% and 72%, but all within a good RH for a cigar. This size humidor is priced under some similar sized others, and I feel like I got my money's worth. Everybody's got more time than money these days, so if you're willing to be patient, this one is a good buy.

The look of this humidor is nice. The reason a bought it was because it ...
My first humidor purchase. Ok with that said I learned a lot from this purchase. The look of this humidor is nice. The reason a bought it was because it doesn't have a glass top. The seal on the humidor is very good. I use the paper to test my humidor's and the paper was not easy to pull out when the top is closed, even on the rear side near the hinges. Now let's talk about the humidifier and hygrometer. The hygrometer is junk. In the sealed bag it came in it was already reading 100+. Go ahead and buy a Xikar or other reliable hygrometer that is able to be calibrated. The humidifer is decent but if you live in a dry region the one supplied won't be enough. I replaced both the humidifer and hygrometer with Xikar products. Personal preference. The humidor's price is great but I quicklyfound myself having 60 bucks into it in order to get the result I desired to store my cigars.Overall the humidor itself is awesome but the accessories are junk. For a beginner this is a great start.
