Favorite Hairspray
Amazing hairspray. Does leave a sticky residue on any surfaces nearby but can easily be wiped off with a wet paper towel. Hairspray dries quickly, has a nice scent, and holds my alternative hairstyles perfectly for hours. Can be a bit heavy and may weigh down thinner hair so be sure to apply in layers with time to dry between applications for the strongest hold.

Great Product!
This hairspray is the only hairspray that holds my hair nicely! It never feels too hard, but I recommend not spraying too much or it makes your hair feel crunchy. Still, love using this!

Best hairspray ever!!!!’
I LOVE this hair spray! It really holds your style even on windy days. Doesn’t look like it is even there. Wears all day- 5am-Midnight with little loss of style. Works great on flyaways for all day coverage. Great value as a little goes a long way.

They ruined it
When I found out that the Aussie hairspray I had been using for over a decade changed packaging I was nervous - and I was right to be. Unfortunately with the packaging update, they also COMPLETELY changed the formula. They got rid of the Australian sea kelp and the jojoba oil and completely watered down the newer version. What they changed about the formula made it incredibly heavy and sticky, rather than the fine, light mist the original formula sprayed out. When I tried the updated formula, because of how heavy and sticky the hairspray is, completely clogged the sprayer, forcing me to have to pull sticky dried gunk off of the sprayer. I even had bought the newer version at two different stores to see if there was a difference in quality and the same thing kept happening, to the point where the sprayer, internally, was so clogged it wouldn't spray anymore and I had to return a can to one of the stores I bought it from. The original formula was so light yet so strong when it came to the hold, honestly it was perfect and I have no idea what there was to improve about it. I was able to do a variety of hair styles both up and down that would last the entire day without any flyaways or even give the appearance of having used hair spray. With the new formula, the heaviness of it would completely weigh down my already fine hair. It would look greasy and not stay where I put it at all. Plus, the smell is terrible. The original had a way better scent that wasn't so in your face and was actually pretty pleasant to smell. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Well, Aussie/Proctor and Gamble, you broke it. This was hardly a formula update. You created a completely new product and replaced something that had worked for over a decade, for me anyway. The reason I even started using this hairspray a decade ago was because of a formula change in a hairspray I was using from Suave and now you guys have ruined another great product for me. If you wanted to launch a new product, you could have launched an entire line of new hairsprays rather than completely eliminating something that worked, and worked well.If anyone's curious about a product similar to the original Aussie extreme hold hairspray, I found that the Kenra Professional Ultra Freeze Spray (30) is the closest one. I tried a bunch of different hairsprays because I'm very enthusiastic about my hair care/styles. Yes. I would rather pay $22 for a product that works, than $5-7 (or whatever the new price is, I haven't bought it in a while) for a product to maintain brand loyalty. What I did do when I realized how terrible the new formula was is I bought as many of the original formula from this listing that I could until they ran out. I don't even know how much I have but I've got a stock pile of the OG hairspray and have already figured out the brand I'll replace it with once I run out. I won't be messing with Aussie anymore.Hopefully this helps.
