Why didn't they just add this functionality to the Ring security system?  Did Ring add this "bridge" to get an additional $50?

On defense of RING, what we’ve been buying and everything NOW as RING is NOT the inventions, production, service, or customer service of a couple years ago.  JAMIE sold RING to the greedy profit-hungry mega-corporation call (get ready) AMAZON… and he did it for just under a (now get really ready) BILLION DOLLARS…!!!  Technically I think it was 900 million but you get the idea.

It must have been part of the deal that Jamie still ‘fronts’ the RING of TODAY, but know it’s AMAZON.

If you follow with the purchases of Amazon, they pretty much bought out all the security systems that they can get their hands on - and money is no object.  Best way to beat the completion is to own all or as much of it as you can.

And keep in mind when you call customer service with ring now it is not like anything we had with Jamie on the company. We use to get instant responses when we call RING, we got people who were born and raise and spoke correct English that you could understand, and that is you’re NOT what we have NOW. Do I still love RING - yes why always probably on RING - yes… But also because I have like 15 RING devices, between the cameras and everything else, so I’m trapped into it now I’m stuck talking to people I don’t understand with long wait times just to do that. And that we call AMAZON

Can this be purchased in black if not when will black be added?

Do smart lights work with Ring Alarm instead of the hub?

The Ring Bridge is used for connectivity between devices that requires it. The only exception is if you have and Echo or Echo Show with the Ring Bridge technology built in. An example is I own an Echo Show 10 with Ring Bridge built in controlling 5 A19 Ring Smart lighting and currently 6 Ring Smart Pathway lighting. The Echo Show 10, as well as the Ring Bridge, will control up to 50 devices that require a Ring Bridge.

Can I use more than one bridge in the house to get better coverage?

If you need better coveragae with Ring, what you need is a Ring extender, which only comes inside a Ring chime.  Otherwise, I cannot tell you how much my entire house wifi improved, along with the improved function of Ring and Alexa when I installed an Orbi mesh system.  I live in an older mobile home with metal walls and I have a great signal inside and outside over my entire yard.  I believe for excellent operation with Ring and Echo systems you can't beat mesh wifi.  Everything now works great from streaming TV's, lights, Ring, and Echo.  The operation isn't cheap, but I've been building it for over a year now.
