BIG BANG for the BUCK!
The Numark NDX500 is a BIG BANG for the buck! I have two of them, but ordered them on separate occasions as I only needed one for a gig that I was doing that required having a CD playback deck. This little unit plays store bought CD's as well as CDR's in both WAV and MP3 formats! Also your WAV or MP3 files from a USB thumb drive. Heck, it even connects to your PC via USB to control DJ Software! I bought the second one later just so that I could have a set of them. The jog wheels are excellent! The information window shows track # playing as well as time elapsed or remaining on a certain track OR the entire disc! Also the track text, etc. You have a choice of continuous playback or one track at a time. The features are jam packed on this puppy AND the cost cannot be beat! Highly recommend to any beginner or intermediate DJ's out there.

wouldn't turn on at first, now fixed!
when i got two of these at first they only had a blue screen and a few lights turned on but they were not working. after contacting the manufacturer they said "it sounds like a power supply issue" so i looked on the back of the turntable and underneath the input for the power cord there is a switch "115V 60hc / 230V 50hc" my switch was on 230v 50hc. so i flipped the switch to 115v 60hc and my turntables turned on and now everything is awesome. i did see a few 1 star reviews with my same problem but they seemed to never find out how to fix the issue. now i am banging music loud and proud with every function working properly

Make sure you check what voltage is selected on the back.
I've been playing with this cdj for a few days now and the layout is easy to understand. I especially like how easy it is to switch folders on the usb stick by pressing the handy folder button. The scratch feature works albeit with a little latency that makes a reverse chirp scratch and really fast chirp scratches kinda difficult to get the crisp vinyl sound, but skribbles, transform scratches, fast or slow forward scratches(cuts) and slow chirps are all crisp enough. The only problem I had with these was after unboxing the power switch in the back was set to the wrong power setting for the U.S.A. and the pitch control when higher than 15% is hard to dial in the exact decimal of pitch you want. 1 more problem that has only happened once so far is that with scratch feature enabled the usb track skipped in the middle of a mix. It was a home session so not a big deal, but I pray it doesn't happen while recording or even worse live.

Great player for the buck!
I hooked up the player to my controllers auxiliary port and found I had to switch the power to the *115v setting. The player works as advertised and I needed a good one at a reasonable price for use at gigs in case people bring a disc or flash drive of their favorites. Numark does it again with a great item that delivers on par audio. I have a few other Numark items that have held up over years of use so I figured this player would make a fine addition to my rig. A+

Excellent Deck!
Wow what a great solid DJ unit! I have been getting by using my karaoke deck as the occasional cd player for my mobile DJ setup and got tired of the futzy controls. This unit is awesome! Solid, heavy, has all of the things I need for playing CDs plus the flash drive and USB. Ha the pic shows a CD loading in shiny data side up, which worried me, but no fear it loads label side up like a normal deck and is fast! Sucks the CD in and has it read and ready for play in seconds. Great looping, cueing, hot cueing, programming, its a third deck to add to my controller and I'm totally loving it. Will have to save up and add another :-)

Does not work with Serato Dj Pro out of the box
If you plan to use them without Serato these are well made and have the basic essentials for beginners. The Numark NDX500 is not plug and play with Serato Dj pro. I email Serato customer service and this is what they wrote: Bruce T. (Serato) Jun 25, 2020, 12:47 AM GMT+12 Hi there, Thanks for getting back in touch. The NDX500 is an accessory, which requires you to have a Mixer, Interface or Controller connected. If you're not willing to spend $300 and above to get them to work with Serato then this is not for you.

Putting Them Through Their Paces: Excellent So Far
I'm a mobile DJ who was using the NDX400 until one of my colleagues turned me on to this model. I've only been using them about 3 weeks thus far, but I have absolutely no complaints with their performance. If you're used to using the NDX400, this one is just a step up, especially with the additional capability of being combined with Traktor. I don't personally use Traktor, so I can't give any feedback on that aspect of this CD player, but given that I use flash drives to run the events that I do, this has been an EXCELLENT product thus far.

Fantastic player for the money. Very pleased.
I wasn't sure what to expect from these inexpensive decks. I'm not a pro DJ any more. Bought these to fool around with at the house, but I have been very pleasantly surprised. Excellent response, realistic scratching, fast scanning of both CDs and USB3 sticks. I was a bit bummed to find the max size of USB sticks it reads is 32GB, but that's not awful. I liked it so much I bought a second one!

Great deck with a Serato licence. Couldn't ask for more. I will be buying another at the end of the month. UPDATE: I bought a second one a few weeks ago. I couldn't be happier with these decks. I would highly recommend them. I also ordered the Akai AMX Mixer so I can use them with Serato.
