The Best Small Bible Around
I recently bought myself the hardback Amplified Bible and began loving it. It is a wonderful translation that just makes sense. What I like about it is that not a lot is implied, meaning the Amplified gives you a definition of a word (like "righteous") and then explains to you how it would have been used/translated in the original language. I also love that it gives a prophesy and then immediately in the same verse gives you a reference to show the book, chapter and verse(s) where the prophesy was fulfilled. Amazing. My husband started reading mine and wanted one of his own, so we decided to try this smaller Mass Market edition. The print is small, but we do not find it uncomfortable to read. It is shaped more like a paperback novel than a bible, and has paper pages instead of the typical "onion skin" Bible pages. The only thing my husband complained about was that the cover seems too "girly," and there aren't a lot of options as of yet to cover it. I bought him a case from Saddleback Leather Company ( Saddleback Leather Bible Cover Small with Closure ) and it fits perfectly. It seemed silly at first to spend $7 on a bible and $40 on a cover, but he wanted the Amplified, he wanted the small version, and he wanted a manly, black leather cover on it. All in all I think we did pretty good!

BEST BIBLE I'VE EVER HAD!
The Amplified Bible in King James Version is by far the BEST Bible I've come to know. It is known to be one of the world's most accurate versions out there and is truly an original...but don't just take my word for it, google and read reviews online! I have this Bible in a large version, and also have the pocket-book version of the New Testament, (that's how much I love this Bible). Now that it is made available on Kindle, it has made my Bible studies much more effective. And I'll gladly explain why...The Amplified Bible It is just wonderful because it contains scripture references at the end of many verses that allows you to go back and check for yourself, thus proving the cohesiveness of scripture studies from beginning to end. When studying on my hardcopy, I would have to take the time to flip pages and back which is obviously much more time consuming. On my Kindle, I found it extraordinarily faster since it leads me straight to the references with a simple click of a button.I have read that there have been some complaints regarding the readability or lack of understanding pertaining to the issue of the KJV being in Old English. There has not been any problem with me understanding the King James Version, but for those who wish to have this Bible on their Kindle but have a problem understanding...keep in mind that the Kindle also has a built-in dictionary.I am very satisfied with the Kindle version of the Amplified Bible, and would definitely recommend this to EVERYBODY!

My favorite portable bible.
I wasn't sure how I felt about this one at first. The type is small in this bible, one of the things that I got used to, as I have an ESV bible that has even SMALLER type; so the type isn't the problem. I found a couple of sections where the printing seemed a bit off (kind of faded) but its not through out. I can also find whole sections that are without issue. What I like about the amplified bible, is what it provides as a tool to better understanding Gods word. The sub text that supplies additional info is great and REALLY helpful. References to supportive scripture are provided to accompany you as you read. There is NO WAY to get lost in the text ( I mean as far as understanding) but I've been lost MANY times in enjoyment.I traditionally read NIV, but I find the text in the Amplified Bible easier to follow. It provides plenty of insight, and I simply devour the word page by page, with an unexpected vigor.I didn;t listen to the reviewers that rank this so low. I recommend going to your local Christian book store and take a look at this edition before buying. I bought mine on Amazon, and its a cornerstone of my bible study! I recommend it.
