Essentials of Children's Literature

There are a number of useful chapters within the book to make reading sections of it worthwhile to both elementary teachers, college students, or aspiring children's books writers/illustrators. The reason I do not feel it is a five star book is because there are some chapters where the information feels more like filler than useful. For me, chapter five held the most useful information I gleamed out of the entire text.

I needed this rental book for my class within a few days. It arrived quickly and was in good condition.

This book is a surface-level reference to children's lit; it is NOT a replacement for a thorough lecture-worthy text. It does lend itself to finding a good read when in the children's section of the library and it can be great for learning the minimal basics to children's lit genres.

This textbook is an excellent introductory coverage of the field. It has a very diverse coverage of literature from the U.S. and international.

This has a great layout and great information for beginners on children’s lit!

The book was extremely sticky from what appears to be where a sticker was taken off on both the front and back. Also the book has water damage to the pages

Arrived in good shape. Saved money on a college text book. Yes!

I get the book for a college class.... I open it to start reading and the first two pages are missing all content. As I skim the book it looks like it is just these two pages but still...... quality check

Book came in awfully late but otherwise no complaints.
