If it won't switch on, then it seems to me its faulty and needs to be sent back to manufacturer. Mine switches on and has an automatic activation or you have a manual option.

Two pin plug

This is very good. I have a shaggy haired dog and over a very wet muddy winter it has been difficult dealing with hair and mud. This makes life a lot easier. The only downside and why it doesn’t get 5 stars is it came with a two pin plug. It doesn’t state this in the description and as it’s being sold on the uk Amazon site I would assume it would come with a standard British plug.
