7.79GB is too large for a FAT filesystem. You need to reformat the drive in exFAT or NFTS. If you are using a Mac, MacOS Extended will work too.

Not by default, as these ones are formatted with exFAT by default out of the box. You can reformat to FAT32 if you want to, but I'd personally recommend keeping it as exFAT, since it'll perform a lot better that way

This model is the silver one! Wouldn't advice you to get this tbh, have recently had to buy a external drive as this USB corrupted all my files, which unfortunately I was unable to recover as they were so badly corrupted. Just a suggestion!
