Yes it will and do it very well

Does it print colored photographs on photo paper?

Xerox specs say: Media types - Plain Paper, Light Paper, Heavy Paper, Card Stock, Labels (Paper Labels), Envelopes, Colored Paper, Letterhead, Preprinted, Bond, Glossy, Rough/Cotton, Recycled. Inkjet technology would be best for what you are trying to do. You can use the glossy paper and print on the highest setting on this printer and it would look good, just not as good as a printer that is designed for photo printing. does the printer come with the cartridges or are they extra?

The printer comes with starter cartridges. I can't remember the exact page count but they are supposed to be good for 700-800 pages.
