Nice Basket. Well Built. But needs some work..
Bought this basket for my Topeak rear rack which I already have and I also have their medium size bag that 'slides on' their nice locking system rack. It is a great system that they have and it looks good and works great. There aren't many metal baskets that are available out there for purchase that really do a nice job. The Topeak basket is really well made, looks nice and is the right size. Only three things are not right with the engineering of this basket. 1. There is no support at the back of the basket so I had to modify that with a 3/8" piece of wood and that worked fine. 2. The next thing was to support that rather flimsy wire handle and I did that by zip tying a 3/8" dowel to it and that solved that problem. 3. Then I noticed that the basket is too far forward on the rack, too close to seat would be better if it was positioned to the rear of the rack so I had to make an extension of the clip to move it back about 3" and that worked fine. These three things are what I found wrong with the engineering on this basket. If you can fix these things as I did, than you found the basket for you and for your Topeak rack. Like I said, there isn't too much to purchase when you are looking for a good well made basket. If you have the Topeak rack and can do some modifications than look no further.

After a year of regular use, still in great shape!
I purchased this basket a year ago, with my Topeak MTX Explorer Rack. I do a lot of off road biking on the weekends and it has been very handy. Every time I go out, I have a Igloo Maxcold EVA Hard Top Gripper Cooler that I fill up with bottles of water and ice (weighs around 12lbs) that I put in this basket and use one of those bunjee nets. The basket has taken a lot of bumping and rattling but and has held up very well. I've accidentally bent it several times and have always been able to pull it back into shape without any issues. I am really impressed with the durability of it. The quick track mount is still strong and working well.. no parts seem weathered or fatigued.I agree that the handle is useless.. I threw it away a long time ago. I don't take a star off for that because I personally don't have much use for the handle. My only minor complaint is that it is too close to the seat. I ride a 29er and I had to raise the seat to accomodate the basket. In the cases whever I've bent the basket, it's usually been from accidentally sitting too far back and hitting it.There's a good amount of left over space on the rack when this is on.. I wish the basket was further back on the rack. I also wish the basket was on the rack longways instead.. It seems like it'd be more table / put less stress on the mount.. but again, I've not had any problems with the mount so it's obviously fine.Still, for its durability and usefulness to me, I felt it really deserved 5 stars, I really do like it.

Good basket with a few flaws
This basket is very large and well constructed. It has a nice glossy coating on it. I got it to haul my dog around because he loves any type of riding. He's an 11 lb Boston Terrier puppy for size reference. I had no clearance problems with my seat as others have stated. I have a large frame bike with a dropper seat post and a huge seat. I have plenty of clearance as pictured. The flaws with this seat are the flimsy, thin handle and the small mount. This sturdy basket can't live up to it's potential because the handle is so flimsy and will cut into your hand with a lot of weight in the basket. Also the mount is so small for this basket. It only attaches to a fraction of my Topeak mount. Making me not feel very confident that it can handle the shock of riding. Why it isn't the same length as the basket doesn't make sense. If you are using it only for light duty it should be fine. It has 2 tie down loops in the front which was a great idea. I ran a strap to my post and 2 on each side of the rack. That way the rail mount is more for keeping it from sliding around then actually supporting the basket. There's no way I would have trusted my dog in this basket with only the tiny half mount held together with 6 small screws.Overall it's a nice basket but know that it's not for heavy duty use. that's why I deducted 1 star.

Great basket.
Loved this basket. Unfortunately I returned as it didn’t clip on to the rack I purchased.

Excellent bike accessory for school
Exactly what I wanted for my middle schooler's bike. Granted you need to buy a Topeak MTX rack, but it is great that you can easily slide on/off the basket. I wanted a big enough basket that can hold a middle schooler's backpack (which is big and heavy nowadays that kids need to carry their books, lunch, plus a decently heavy chomebook every day). On the weekends, my son can slide it off and not bother with the additional load. I needed to buy the extra-long mounting arms to get it to work with his bike (a size M adult bike). Without the extra long arms, the basket sat too close to the bike seat.Like other reviewers, the handle is trash--it is too flimsy to use it like a hand basket, and it will just rattle nonstop when the basket is on the bike. That's fine for my kid's usage, as he won't need it as a hand basket.

Perfect basket, weak handle, but who cares
Like a number of people have mentioned this is an excellent basket to construction is perfect the size is perfect and it interfaces with the system excellently. However like others have stated I will point out that the handle is not sufficient for carrying a thing of a substantial weight. That said, this basket is perfect for its purpose of transporting goods on a bike and not to be used as a shopping basket. We've had no trouble carrying a gallon of milk and assorted other items from the grocery store as the structural Integrity of the physical basket when mountrd is top notch. I would suggest just loading the basket with your standard grocery bag and lift from there as this is not intended as a heavy duty lifting basket.
