Item was great for a beginner.

Just received and my son, who is autistic has been building the different configurations non-stop. Two main reasons for the 4-star: 1-one of the light bulbs did not work. 2-the instructions are on a small pamphlet. Considering this is meant for 8-12 year-olds, it seems sensible that the instructions with diagrams etc would have been on much larger paper.

I bought this for my daughter for her last minute school project. Got here just on time. Great quality.

There are 2 safety hazards.1 if you have the batteries in the battery holder and you use the motor with the red on it and you connect the black wire then connect the red wire it sparks.2 if you have the batteries in the battery holder then put the red and black wires together they turn red and burn each other.

I will update when we receive replacement. Thankfully Inopened this, although it is a gift for later, I noticed that the tape to box was opened and redone. When I opened the box things were upside down so you could not see, but the main receiving end for a screw was bent, carefully hidden upside down. Check the product when you receive. I will update the review after replacement is received! I hope for good as this looks like a wonderful, inexpensive gift for the motor like minds some children have .
