Do these valves have a tapered thread, others I’ve tried tightening and they just continue to turn into the radiator but never tighten?

No they don't I had to use loads off ptfe plus clear silicone

Have bought these and on tightening the valve onto the fitting that goes into radiator it feels lose still. Is this normal?

No it should not be loose try wrapping ptfe tape around thread and try again.
