looks kinda weak, but I'd rather have broken lock than broken laptop.
If I were a thief, I wouldn't want to steal that thing. It jiggles a bit when locked, but it isn't that noticeable from the 3rd perspective. it is mainly built to discourage thieves, not to lock it in place physically. if your laptop is worth more than the time and effort of breaking the lock, I would say don't bring that laptop outside.

This lock is perfect for my Razer 18. The lock is very good quality. Don’t settle for anything else.

Garbage
Do not buy this locking cable. First of all, the numbers are really hard to turn and they are small and packed in so tightly that you need a child's size hand to get them lined up and even if you do get them lined up they don't stay put. But the worst part is when I tried to reset the combination, the screw got stuck in the 90 degree angle and would not budge. Kensington support said to use W-D40 but that did nothing. We ended up smashing the lock with a hammer and chisel to get it off. Money down the drain.....

Good within limits
Using this to secure a laptop in a dorm-room. Easy to use (just loop it around something fairly immovable), easy to reset the combination. The only caveat I would give is that given enough time, someone can brute-force the combination. I came back to campus from a weekend away to see that the code on the wheels was not where I had left it. I had happened to notice the exact numbers it was on when I left after removing it from the laptop and spinning them, when I came back it was exactly one number off from the right combination on every wheel. I assume that my room-mate or someone he let in had brute-forced it, possibly with the intent of stealing my laptop later (I changed the code and got a new room-mate).Since a 4 number combo is inherently weak and I knew that when I bought it, I am not dinging points for it. Just be aware that this is not a foolproof protection device, any serious thief will cut the cable with bolt cutters and work out the combination at their leisure. It will prevent casual/impulsive thefts, as designed.
