Dream Piano ° Nightmare Delivery
I'm among the many that decided to return to and/or start learning the piano during quarantine. I have an upright piano in my living room, but it is out of tune and needs some repairs. I decided to splurge on a digital piano that would be weighted, have amazing sound, and have a headphone port so I can iron out those kinks in peace.I looked at several different models and perused my fair share of YouTube videos before I eventually decided on getting the FP-30 … a month later and a story I'm sure you're not interested in, I purchased the FP-60X.The shipping was fast, and the UPS worker that delivered the piano took great care. Unfortunately, whoever had their hands on the Roland before then seemed to have a personal grudge to settle. Upon receipt the box was dented, punctured, and shabby all around. For such an expensive purchase (maybe not to some, but for me it was) I was shocked how little protection is inside the box. Two small blocks of styrofoam and a thin cover that offers minimal protection at best. No bubble wrap, no styrofoam case, nada. Needless to say, my piano arrived damaged. Five keys were permanently depressed and a small cosmetic crack on the side.Once I collected myself enough to contact Amazon Customer Service, I was met with not one, but three different reps who's assistance was laughable. I explained my issue thoroughly, and the responses I got ranged from pointless, frightened, to sarcastic. They literally asked me why I was talking to them! Around that point, I was asking myself the same thing. The fourth and final rep I got was amazing, though. He was very empathetic, and promised to follow up with my issue personally. He assisted me in contacting Roland, finding a certified Roland partner, and refunded the cost of repairs. This was done over the course of several weeks and he called me as scheduled three times. N*lie L. deserves a raise if Amazon is reading this.Once I was finally able to play the FP-60X, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. The instrument itself was worth the wait. The number of voices on this piano are infinite and sound great (there are a few useless ones, but that is neither here nor there.) The key action is superb. I played a C Major scale on the FP-60X and my upright to compare key weight and it was spot on for me. Not too heavy, but enough resistance to train the phalanges. The onboard speakers are powerful! Even the repair guys talked about how impressed they were with the sound, and the clear highs and powerful lows. Plus, the speakers are on top where they should be.The 3D Ambiance feature is spectacular. I had to check twice to see if the sound was coming from the speaker or my headphones because it sounded as though I was playing out into the room. I'd suggest investing in quality headphones, the absolute worst thing you can do is degrade the sound of this instrument with shoddy accessories. The bluetooth integration works like a dream. I was able to connect my phone in a matter of seconds, and it works great with the Roland apps and the Musescore app as well. Like the previous review mentioned, the FP-60X works great as a bluetooth speaker. The recording feature is simple, and you can even rename a recording on the device. I haven't used a USB to transfer a recording, but I don't foresee that being difficult. All things considered, if you can find the FP-60X, buy it! You wont regret it … I certainly don't.

Actually getting one of these was a challenge! Absolutely worth the trouble.
I did a lot of research before choosing this piano. I played the Kawai and Yamaha competitors before selecting this one, and I could not be more pleased with the result having chosen this piano. This is a gorgeous instrument with absolutely brilliant sound from the onboard speakers, as well as via line out. I will not go into the details of everything here (there are plenty of review videos online for that), but I will say this feels exactly like playing a really nice grand piano. I absolutely love it. A truly great feature is the ability to connect your iPad or phone to it via Bluetooth and play music from your device through the piano itself for either accompaniment or practice (or even just as a superb Bluetooth speaker). The listing does not make it clear, but the piano comes with a proper Roland damper pedal. Note the packaging is not great and the Styrofoam endcaps inside the box were harmed during shipping (one was completely destroyed), but the piano itself seems intact. Check yours over thoroughly upon receipt. The biggest challenge was actually getting one of these. The piano was released in February by Roland, but no one had them in stock. Most places still don't. Pay attention to pricing when you order this. The MSRP is $1099, and it should not be sold for more, per Roland themselves. I wholeheartedly recommend this piano. Incidentally, this is not a paid or sponsored review - I bought this for myself after wanting a good piano for years. And now I finally have one.

Very good as described
The key action is great and realistic, the piano has all the needed functions to modify and voice the piano, and it looks great. It is heavy at 43 lbs, so not portable. I returned it because I didn’t like the acoustic piano sounds, which were the main reason I bought it. They seemed muffled or very dark to me. I could not change this despite so many voice changing functions through the app. I don’t know if this was due to this specific piano as a malfunction or that this is how this model is. I could not try another one in a store because there are no Roland dealers in my state. I exchanged it for Kawai ES 520 which had much better sound like an acoustic piano.

Piano is amazing; some damage from shipping
The piano itself is fantastic. Key action feels great and the sound quality is good, especially if you use headphones.Shipping though, like others mentioned, was barely acceptable. When I opened the box the styrofoam inside was already destroyed. There was some light damage to the casing of the piano - you can see the cracked plastic in my pics. Fortunately, the guts of it don't seem damaged.I strongly recommend that you take unboxing pics so that you can report any damage.FYI mine was even sold by Amazon and not a 3rd-party vendor, and looking at the packing slips, looks like it was shipped direct from Roland -> Amazon -> my home via UPS. So if this is as good as it gets for shipping, well... maybe buying a piano online isn't a great idea.

Amazing piano. Great design, beautiful sound, and well planned functionality.
What can anyone say about this digital piano that hasn't already been said? Not much. Very hard to acquire anywhere online or in person but well worth the wait. The accompanying apps could use a lot of work but they technically have nothing to do with the Fp-60x so won't remove any stars. For anyone wondering about the 90 day trial for Pianote, to get the free trial you have to register your digital piano on the Roland website. Shortly after registering, you'll receive an offer for a free 90 day trial for Pianote on the email you registered the piano to on the Roland website.
