Tight fitting lid. I use it to ferment buttermilk. I'm trying to quit using plastic as it can leach into food especially acidic. Glass is safer and this is a thick jar that probably won't break easily.

Great jar for my sourdough starter. Gives it room to grow but seals tightly so it doesn’t grow mold.

Carefully packaged! "Squared corners" - not round. Quality appears excellent.
Carefully well-packaged! Inside the shipping box, the 33-3/4 ounce Bormioli Fido Rocco rubber sealed jar is wrapped and taped in multiple layers of bubble wrap.The jar is "square cornered" - meaning that its shape is not round. Inside the jar is a white seal to place around the rim of the lid. The quality of the jar seems to be excellent.However, I was hoping for a close match to the one that I currently use. Compared to this Bormioli jar, mine is round and shorter. The opening to my jar appears to be wider than this one. Thus, because of the increased height and narrower opening, I'll have to find a different use for this jar.
