Soooo good
I’m extremely picky about mineral face sunscreen, I wear it daily under makeup. I loved Algenist brand but they discontinued it so I went on the hunt for something new. This is the ONE! It’s light weight, smells fine (not like sunscreen which I appreciate) goes on smooth under makeup, moisturizes, not white cast!

Pricey, but good for the face
For the price I thought it would be bigger. I used it for my trip to Jamaica on the face and neck. Definitely not enough imo for the whole body. I reapply every two hours so I did go through this fast on my trip. It was still a great sunscreen though. It didn’t burn my skin or eyes which I loved (why I purchased). It does give a bit of a white cast, but mainly disappeared after about ten minutes.

White cast
This products comes highly recommended on several skincare sites, so I thought I would take a chance. I was looking for a sunscreen that was non-irritating and gentle since I was dealing with some inflammation. The formulation is very creamy and silky, but if you use the amount you’re supposed to to get the SPF on the label, there is a definite white cast that never fades or dries down, despite rubbing it in. It is very dewy, so I topped it off with some loose powder. I looked like a corpse. I am pretty white anyway, so it’s amazing this could make me look even whiter. I will try to finish this since it is a little pricey for the amount of product you get, but will not be repurchasing.

Great mineral sunscreen for everyday wear on sensitive skin!
The mineral SPF 50 cream from MD Solar Sciences is a great sunscreen for my combination skin. It's quite hydrating (almost oily/greasy when first applied), but without making my skin oily. I personally prefer mineral sunscreens (although the formula is never as elegant as a good formulated chemical one), since chemical sunscreen ingredients irritate sometimes my skin (and my eyes). The consistency of the sunscreen is creamy, but not very thick (as most SPF 50 products are), somewhat lightweight and oily (you need to shake it before applying, otherwise there's some separation). It indeed applies silky smooth and wears wonderfully under make-up all day long. But since it's hydrating, I need to let it sink into the skin for 5-10 minutes before applying foundation; if the sunscreen doesn't dry out enough on the skin, the make-up applies bad. It somewhat helps to blur fine lines and wrinkles, but nothing too impressive. On my skin the finish is not truly matte; more like velvety satin, with a touch of dewiness. But overall I think it makes my skin look great under make-up and I noticed I get less oily towards the end of the day than usual.I can definitely feel this sunscreen on my face, but it's a `veil` like feel, not a `heavy cream` feel. It's still a mineral sunscreen and will somewhat clog the pores and I can feel it on my skin. But I do a good cleanse in the evening so I had no issues with breakouts from this cream. The formula is definitely more lightweight than most mineral sunscreen products.Surprisingly for a mineral sunscreen, there's barely any white cast once the cream is set to the face (but I have a light-medium skin tone, darker complexions might have different experiences).I also like the formula of this sunscreen, without fragrance and other irritants; it's a good mix of mineral SPF for sun protection, silicone for smoothness (and priming) and some antioxidants (so good for the skin during sun exposure). It's a pricey SPF, but a great one.

Recommend for oily/combo skin
This sunscreen is amazing! It is the first facial sunscreen that has not broken me out or made my eyes burn. Bonus, it has zinc oxide which is dermatologist recommended to prevent skin cancer. I have fair-light skin, and a history of acne, and this sunscreen gives me the protection I need while not breaking me out which is wonderful! Of course it has a slight white hue - that is the zinc. It is what it is! Sunscreen that does not give a white hue does not have the recommended amount of zinc and probably is not the best to use for protection. I've seen reviews talking about about it doesn't absorb into the skin and sits on top - that's what mineral (aka physical) sunscreens do! If you want sunscreen that doesn't sit on top of the skin, then you will need to buy a chemical sunscreen. It has a matte texture, too, so it is great for oily or combo skin types. If you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend this or any product that clearly states it is matte... just read the label and address your own skin type, dont blindly buy sunscreen or any face product.Oh, on top of it not breaking me out, it goes on nice a smooth and does have a blurring effect which is great if you're concerned about textured skin or fine lines. It also wears very nicely underneath my foundation, almost like a primer. That is probably the dimethicone so just be aware of that should you have any need or desire to avoid silicones.I've been getting a lot of compliments lately on my skin, and the only thing I've changed is using this sunscreen. I am just so glad to have found a quality sunscreen that does not make my face break out and like an oil slick.
