When the Manufacturer Failed, SwitchBot Delivered
I bought this to solve a very specific and frustrating problem. I’d purchased a TV bed but wanted the TV to retract automatically once it powered off. Unfortunately, the bed’s remote uses a closed, proprietary protocol, and the manufacturer offered no support. The only manual control beyond the remote control was a rocker switch hidden under the ottoman, which is far from ideal.Enter SwitchBot.Installing the bot onto the rocker switch wasn’t easy due to the awkward layout of the switch, but I managed it using the supplied fixings. I even reinforced the setup with a metal bracket to ensure consistent pressure and positioning as the rocker is actually quite stiffWithin five minutes and a few tests, it worked flawlessly. Seeing how well it performed, I then purchased the SwitchBot Hub to integrate with Home Assistant. I created an automation that detects when the TV disconnects from the network (i.e. goes into standby), which then triggers the SwitchBot to press and hold the rocker switch for a fixed time period. This lowers the TV into the bed. Once fully lowered, power to both the TV and the SwitchBot Hub is cut off automatically, meaning everything stays off until someone next raises the TV again using the bed’s remote, which re-enables the power supply. It’s a brilliantly simple yet effective solution to what seemed like a complex problem. Highly recommended.I've been using this setup issue-free for several years now, and I can confidently say this is a fantastic and reliable product. I’ve changed the batteries in the bot a few times, but it continues to perform flawlessly. It presses a very firm rocker with noticeable force, holds it for about 20 seconds, then retracts. This action has repeated countless times without a single hiccup. Today, it remains a hassle-free and indispensable part of my smart home.

Smartens dumb switches!
I have smart bulbs in the rest of the house, but I have a strip light in my kitchen, so bought one of these to 'smarten' the switch, as it's in an awkward position entering the room from either door. And as my house is rented I didn't want to alter the switch in any way. Now I can just ask Alexa to 'turn on the kitchen light' and it just works! It was easy to install, doesn't take up much room and I can move it in the future if I need to. I loved it so much and the price doesn't break the bank, I bought a second one for my immersion heater switch. The switch is quite stiff to press but the SwitchBot manages it most of the time (sometimes misses when the battery gets a bit lower). And I have it on a schedule (as I also have the SwitchBot Hub Mini), so don't need to curse every time I forgot to turn on the hot water any more! The app is super easy to use and I cannot recommend enough. SwitchBot seem like a great company and I'm hoping to get more products in the future.

SwitchBot Smart Switch Button Pusher – A Clever Gadget with a Few Caveats
I picked up the SwitchBot Button Pusher to make some of my older devices “smarter” without rewiring or replacing them — and it’s honestly more useful than I expected.✅ What works well:• Instant smart control for dumb devices – I’m using mine on a coffee machine and an old power switch, and it triggers them perfectly. Great for turning things on/off remotely.• Easy setup – The SwitchBot app is simple to use, and pairing over Bluetooth took less than 2 minutes.• Strong pushing force – It’s surprisingly powerful and works on most light switches, buttons, and even some rocker switches (with the included add-on hook).• Works with Alexa, Google, and HomeKit (with the hub) – Great if you’re building out a smart home ecosystem.⚠️ A few things to note:• You’ll want the Hub – Without it, you’re limited to Bluetooth range only. If you want remote control or voice assistant support, the SwitchBot Hub Mini is essential.• Surface prep matters – If the adhesive isn’t properly applied, it may come loose over time. Clean the surface thoroughly before mounting.• Not ideal for recessed buttons or switches with very little resistance.💬 Final thoughts:If you’re looking for a smart way to automate non-smart devices without any rewiring, the SwitchBot Button Pusher is a clever solution. It won’t work for every type of button or switch, but in the right setup, it’s genuinely useful and fun to use.I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could — loses a half-point for the reliance on the hub and limitations on certain buttons.
