Q: Whats the difference between this switch d1539j and the d1586h? Do I need both or either one is fine for my 2010 Silverado work truck ext cab 4x4 5.3

The switch 1539j is used on vehicles with adjustable brake pedal, the d1586h is for vehicles without an adjustable brake pedal.

Q: Will this fix the issue of bakes for electric brake control for towing?

I really do not believe it will help on a electric brake control however I am not know. In my case it fixes the lack of engagement of the cruise control.

Q: does this part work with adjustable pedals?

Yes it does, Johnny. My 2007 Escalade had adjustable pedals and it worked perfectly. A bit of a pain to install because you have to lie on your back under the dash to replace the old one, but it saved lots of $$$ by avoiding dealer troubleshooting of the cruise control. Once the brake light switch was replaced, the cruise control began working just like new.

Q: This switch is black & white so can it be used as replacement of the all black switch in a 2010 1500 extended cab silverado? Has any body do it?

Looking at the answers of it fitting on the product itself it says it will fit. I changed my 2011 Silverado's out with it and my switch was previously all black. It's been a year and been fine.
