Great wine tool. I was looking for a replacement for the cheap ones that keep breaking. I opened it, and it feels like a quality, well-made tool. There is a little weight to it, and the corkscrew is well secured. The dual hinge fulcrum is great and works flawlessly to remove any cork. Also, it's nice enough to leave on the bar top and not be ashamed to have a guest use it. Though for personal use, I would not think twice about giving one as a gift.

Got tired of the cheap openers breaking. Bought this looking for a well built, durable appliance. Works as expected. Throwing those other cheap souvenirs in the thrash now.

This is built rugged. It is very stiff and difficult to work. I am hoping it will "break-in". If it does break in, I will give this 4 stars.update : I added a star rating because this tool has "broken in" enough be a nice tool. No longer stiff. I would give it 5 stars if it were cheaper.update #2 I have been using this for about 3 months , almost every day. It is built rugged and intelligently. I am upgrading this review to 5 stars. I just ordered another for a back up

Cool wine opener. I bought the white handle. Pretty good looking. The HICoup wine opener is a quality product. I like this type of wine over vs. all others. It has a fluted corkscrew for ease of going into the cork. The dual hinge on the opener is very easy to use. The size is smaller enough to throw into the backpack when going on road trips.It looks really nice and is stylish. You can’t beat the cost for a quality corkscrew. The foil cutter is serrated and makes it easy to remove the foil.

I have had a simple stainless steel waiter's corkscrew similar to the HiCoup Rosewood Waiters Corkscrew for many years and saw this one on Amazon and decided to purchase it based on the reviews as I do for all of my online purchases. It arrived on time and was packages in a nicely designed box, This is a very high quality, well made item.There are no rough edges that would cause injury or damage to clothing if placed in a pocket. The rosewood has a quality, smooth finish that looks very good. The corkscrew works well, grasped the cork easily and with the aid of the fulcrum and lever action lifted the cork out of the bottle with ease. My older corkscrew would tear the cork as I removed it, but this one did not. I did not really need the double-hinged fulcrum as the main one worked very well in pulling the cork almost all the way out of the bottle, but I tried it anyway and it helped to remove the cork completely. I will buy more of these to give as gifts to all my wine drinking friends and relatives. The price is right, the quality outstanding and with the addition to the lifetime guarantee makes it an excellent purchase! Finally, the company seems to have placed a high value on customer satisfaction by sending emails thanking you for your purchase, notifying you of shipment and seeking feedback to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase. They also include two PDF's one for instruction on use of the corkscrew plus an e-book on wine education entitled "The Art of Enjoying Wine" which is very good.

I have been using inexpensive 2 stage wine openers from Trader Joe's and others for years. I find them easy to use and really like them. A couple months ago I misplaced the Trader Joe's opener and had to use a freebie one stage wine opener- what a pain. Then while traveling I bought another cheap one stage wine opener from Walmart and it was even worse- the metal prongs actually bent after a couple bottles making it impossible to get the cork out.Long story short, I wanted to go for quality so I bought this and it is easy to see and feel the difference. I am very happy with the purchase. It not only feels better in my hand, it works better. It is so easy to open even a tough bottle. The knife cuts through the foil easily- I think I underappreciated that feature in the past- and the cork screw really slides in a lot better.I bought a couple other inexpensive, not cheap, corkscrews to have for camping* and backup, but this is definitely going to be the one I use the most.* I do have multi-purpose / swiss army knives that have a corkscrew for camping and I can use them, but they are difficult to use some bottles and when drinking wine I prefer to be relaxed when opening the wine :)
