When you say connect to dvr, do you mean a normal dvr, as in what i have with dish, or is there some other type of dvr that has to be purchased?

I am sorry it worked out that way. DVR for TV service have nothing to do with your camera purchase(CCTV closed circuit television). Camera for surveillance( you bought analog brand name) come in two flavors. Analog which means they produce a picture language of its own and record to a recorder of its own nature(JMPEG or H265 language). The digital type record in ones and zeros to its own kind of recorder(NVR network digital recorder). Both record to internal hard drives like the ones a computer uses but with their special language/formats. Please get a local surveillance camera company tech to help you( any store that sells cameras should do). Sorry our modern age no long functions with 1 + 1 = 2, new age digital world

i have the live view on my tv. while im gone, i point my laptop cam at the tv & the laptop cam records what it sees, which is the live view of my tv screen. there is no cables to hook up, no compatibility prob's. i suppose that a person could use a cell phone or tablet to record(if you have enough storage space).the downside is; video quality of recorded data on laptop will be lower quality, results would vary according to laptop specs, laptop' view of tv, as in. askew angle, dusty dirty tv screen, smudgy cam lens, ect. but if you ran to the store real quick & returned to find your frt. door kicked in. IF the laptop isnt stolen, then you would be able to see that someone kicked your door in.

Cameras are blurry. Wiped off picture still sucks. Why?

With my cameras I found that the reflection from the visor and the house being white caused blurred picture.the blurred picture only occurred at night. I ended up pointing the cameras away from the house and slid the visor back some.fixed the problem.
